It might be pretty to scatter loose flowers of your colors & nestle them around the lantern with additional plain glass votives. I found these too:
Future mrs. k,
I really love the lantern you found. I was going to go with a black lantern from ikea. Where did you get yours?
I'm doing lanterns too but needed some inspiration as to how to pull it together. Thanks!
@samsonite44: Ms. Library had some blue lanterns at her reception that I'm getting as well from Amazon. Here is one of her posts about the wedding (post 10), I think there's a photo in her recap as well.
I'm taking my lanterns and using ribbon to hang them from the pews at the church (flicker electric tea lights to keep them from getting too hot), and then transferring them to the venue for our centerpieces. Not sure if we'll hang them like Ms. Library or just set them on the mirror surrounded by candles.
Wow... you don't know what you've just done for me!!! I was trying to figure out a way to incorporate lanterns into the quaint little country church, and you've just shown me. Thank you thank you thank you!
I'll have to use shorter ribbon, however, so as to not draw the eye to the ugly green red carpet in the church, lol... I'm thinking runner!
@samsonite44: Thanks, I can't take credit for the photo though, some other bee (I think) posted this in a different thread way back and it got saved to my favorites file ASAP! I think it's just lovely, especially with our winter wedding where even a 4:30/5 wedding will be getting dark out.
*PS- so jealous of your little country church, I love those tiny, cozy churches.
i would put greens around the base of the lantern which some whole flowers in the greens. I would also put about 2-3 candles in the actual lantern to make it look fuller it you have the room in the latern. All different height candles in the lantern would look cool.

Hello Hive,
I cam across these great lanterns, and am thinking as using them as the centerpiece for the cocktail hour. But by themselves they look "lonely" on the table. Any ideas/pics of how to incorporate a little color (and/or flowers) to the tables? Our colors are deep purple, grey with pops of marigold. Our wedding is this October.

TIA for all of your help!
