Hi! I live in Manhattan and am getting married in Philly too. Our venue recommends EBE and I almost considered hiring Miami since the Eddie Bruce band was booked. The efusion bands looked really cool too – but my impression was that they would be better for a smaller wedding (although a DJ could be any size I guess). I’ve only heard good things about them, but never have seen any in person. We decided on Jelly Roll.

My cousin had the band London from EBE and they were AWESOME!  The horns were great and they kept everyone up and dancing!

We live in Manhattan and are getting married in Wilmington, DE, and our venue also recommended EBE.  Their larger bands seemed expensive, so we are also thinking about using one of their eFusion bands, but I can’t tell if they’d be fun or kind of lame.  We might try to have one of our friends in the area check out their showcase — if we do, I’ll let you know!

We’re also thinking about hiring Bigg Romeo (http://www.biggromeo.com).  They’re a smaller band, but do a lot of current stuff and have a lot of gigs all over the Philly/Jersey shore area, so they don’t just do weddings.  I’ve heard they’re a lot of fun.

We just booked the Janis Nowlan Band after seeing their showcase at a hotel near the King of Prussia Mall this week.  They are amazing! Janis Nowlan Band is not affiliated with EBE, but if you can be in the KOP area, they are having another showcase on October 15th I believe.  If you can’t check them out live, they have videos on their website.  They were awarded “Best of Philly” by The Knot’s Best of Weddings Magazine 2007, 2008, & 2009.  They also performed at Obama’s Inaugural Ball. They are an eleven pc. band that sound fantastic no matter what the song genre is and every member of the band we spoke with (especially Janis) were so outgoing and personable.  Janis and her band were talking with us like we were old friends or family, it was such a comfortable and fun experience.

Their pricing was well under what I expected having already viewed pricing packages from EBE and a few other non-production agency run bands. Good luck with your search!  (www.janisnowlan.com)

I hired EBE’s efusion LOVE for my wedding (Nov. 2008) and they were amazing!!! Dave the band leader was truly a professional and took care of every detail and even learned a song for us to sing for our 1st dance. You made a great choice. All the guests at my wedding still talk about the band and how great it was and they will definitely bring the party!

WARNING!  DO NOT USE EBE FOR YOUR PARTY!  Mike G who runs the show there is a REAL piece of shit!   He treats musicians like they are puppets and pays them pennies on the dollar.  He has every band play to pre-recorded music because there isnt a musician in his whole company who is capable of playing well enough to make sense out of any song.   THAT IS CHEATING AND A HOAX WHICH IS FAKING EACH CLIENT INTO BELEIVING THAT THE MUSICIANS ARE ACTUALLY PLAYING WHEN THEY REALLY ARE NOT.    So the client ends up paying a fortune for a band that on the most part, is NOT really playing their instrument.  Mike G is a lying, manipulative scum who lies to the clients in that fashion!   Stay away!

Im not sure what the previous posters deal is (sounds like there is something else going on there) but I do have to say that EBE treats their musicians terribly. As amusician I will never work for nor hire them. It sounas like you’ve already booked them. But if not, and you want a suggestion I can letyou know who we’re using. Good luck!
