My dad owned a glass installation business back in California. Did tinting and installation of windshields and glasses for specialty automobiles, regular cars, and businesses. He inherited it from his father in his 20's, which is why he went that route.
He always worked his own schedule, which was great (always home for baseball games, took off early to coach us, travel with us, etc) and he retired at 48, so he must've done ok for himself
.
It was hard work, though, and he'd come home greasy and kinda smelly. Very much a blue collar laborious type of job.
I doubt that's what you're interested in, though =]

What do you do? What made you choose this businees? What have been the highs and lows?
I'm really finding myself miserable in my job and DH has always wanted to have his own business somewhere down the road.
