We did! It went pretty well. Believe it or not, 6 lessons was not enough. I mean, it was technically enough, but 10 would have been better!
I'm thinking about it. One of the dance studios in the area has a really good package with 12 lessons for me and the future hubs plus three bonus lessons for the bridal party. Although I don't think I need lessons for the bridal party, I think my BMs might enjoy it.
Actually, my dad wants to do something special for our father/daughter dance. He surprised me when he told me about it, but I'm totally game. :) It's a huge secret too, not even FI knows what we have up our sleeves!
We did! We wanted some choreographed moves for the faster parts of the song (Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin). I definitely recommend it, everyone said our first dance was awesome (and my grandma said it was her favorite part of the wedding besides the ceremony). We started out with 5 lessons and ended up doing 2-3 more closer to the date. Heres a video if you want to check it out (its after the bridal party entrance):
@naangel55: First of all your venue is beautiful! Second, you guys look great dancing, so relaxed looking. I think we're gonna go for it, but I'm a bit concerned because my FI has zero rhythm.
@prettylizzy: What a great idea for you and your dad. My dad LOVES Dancing with the Satrs, and him and mom my used to so swing dancing when they were dating..... hmm i could go somewhere with this. Thanks for sharing!
@melissabegins: What a pretty picture, that's what I'm hoping for is cute pictures of us dancing. Good to know 6 lessons wasn't enough. I think there is a place here that offers 12 lessons and a choreographed dance, but it's like $600.
I don't think that's a bad price at all for 12 lessons! We paid $65 a lesson, which was a semi-discount from the $69/hour individually priced lessons. (i think, it was a blurrrr the week before) I'd go for it if I were you. You could keep those skills forever, too! And whip them out at all of the weddings in the future :)
@Miss Key Lime - Thanks! Dont worry, we werent big dancers before our lessons! I danced when I was young but as far as actual dancing, I just moved back and forth :)
And I agree with Melissabegins, we used our dance moves at the 3 weddings after ours :)
Was thinking of making our reception entrance into a fun coreographed dance to "I gotta feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. First the bridal party will come in dancing and then we will make our grand entrance

Any Bee's having their first dance choreographed, or taking dance lessons with the Mr. to prepare??
