Sunday I need to bite the bullet and come up with a color scheme because I'm going shopping for bridesmaids dresses. It's a summer wedding and I know I want bright pink flowers. What bridesmaids dress color would you choose? My brain says navy or brown. Part of me says go with a burgundy color, but not sure if hot pink will compliment that. Any advice?

I think a blue dress would look great with the hot pink, or what about grey?  Do you have any complimentary colors to the bright pink flowers?

I like gray/charcoal--that would look nice We had springy green with hot pink....not a fan. Navy does look awesome and it's fresh, very nautical...even for a darker color

I think we as brides tend to overthink the whole color coordination aspect of the wedding-I think hot pink would look awesome with orange, yellow, red, brown, aNYTHING!

I know it sounds odd, but one suggestion is to go with - hot pink. I know it sounds crazy but why not go all out right? One of my best friends from HS did it for her wedding. It was shades of bright pink & green and it looked amazing. Now I'll admit I never wore the dress again, but the contrast from the flowers to the dresses looked really cool. The dresses were from Saeyoung vu.

She owns a boutique and I'm not trying to get you to buy from her, but if you check out her website, there's a picture of all of us & her hubby on the homepage. Here:

Hot pink would really pop against either turquoise or mango. If you want something more subdued, black, white and pink is a nice color scheme.

Agree with Dancy.  I'm doing bright pink flowers and bright pink dresses.  My color is "watermelon" from David's.

I agree also about doing bright pink flowers with bright pink dresses!  My bridesmaids dresses are poppy colored from Amsale.  My florist requested a swatch so he can match the color of the flowers to the dresses.  The bridesmaids flowers are going to be a mix of cream, green and few of the bright pink and my flowers are going to be more of the bright pink with fewer cream and green.

But if you don't want to go with bright pink dresses, I think navy would look great as a bridesmaid dress color with the pop of bright pink flowers!!

I really like navy blue with pink. The flowers pop and the dresses have a shot at being worn again.

In my opinion, the brown and pink is a little more fall.

I LOVE the look of navy and pink. Check out the attached inspiration board I put together for a bride.  It looks beautiful and is perfect for anytime of year.

I also adore the look of soft greys and pinks together with a splash of bright pink. That would look absolutely stunning!

I think either navy or an aqua/teal/turqouise colors would look great with hot pink!

OK, so I finally found another picture. This is from another wedding I was in a few years back. I cut everyone's heads off cuz I don't feel like asking each of them for permission to post (plus we don't talk to one of our college friends anymore. LOL)

She had pink orange and yellow but they were all really bright flowers. This pic doesn't do it justice but the flowers POP against the black dresses. I think Navy would have the same effect.

Navy!  You can't beat navy, hot pink and white for a summer wedding.  It is delicious!  Plus navy dresses could easily be worn again almost like little black dresses if they were the right style.

You could do different shades of blue- some navy, some light.  I love the look of different blues in a bridal party and pink against them would be GORG.

I'm a black and hot pink bride.  :)

For my daughter's wedding in June, the BM's wore fuschia & carried beautiful pink bouquets.

They walked in during the rain,so excuse the drips on her dress!

I was going to do the bright pink dress with bright pink flowers, then I started worrying that the flowers would blend too much.  So I'm changed up to pewter dresses with hot pink flowers.  I really like the navy & pink combo everyone has mentioned though too!

it depends on your style & the complexion of your BMs  I really like blues...lighter blue would be more youthful/flattering to most complexions....a turqouise more playful or tropical...navy more elegant (would be my choice)  What time of days is the wedding?  I think navy is better for night

I've also seen some really cute orange & pink pairings, but the BMs would have to have the right complexion.  I saw some cute preppy weddings w/ those 2 together, w/ some plaid decor mixed in in a Martha mag ages ago.

I also think w/ a color like pink you, could do a mix & match, where some BMs have pink flowers with color X dress and others have color X flowers w/ a pink dress (maybe the MOH)  this also gives you more flexibility w/ their complexion

I know for me, personally, hot pink or orange dress is the one I'd be LEAST likely to wear again as a BM...oh!  and one last cute idea is if you go w/ navy or black, they could have pink shoes!  THOSE I'd be more likely to wear!  I have some cute pink shoes I got @ jcrew for my rehearsal.  :-D

I am doing light pink dresses with bright pink (and light pink) flowers for the bouquets. My colors are just white and pink so it wasn't much of a choice..

We did light pink flowers with dark grey dresses.  I think you could pair bright pink flowers with a light grey dress.  I also like the navy idea.

A girl on my local knot board did the hot pink dresses and then had her bouquets be pale pink, hot pink, and burgundy flowers.  It looked AMAZING.  Very textural.

I'd love a neutral like navy or gray with hot pink flowers. They both look good on most complexions, too. :)

I would go with a lighter shade of pink or blue for a summer wedding.  I think dark colors are best for the Fall or Winter.  However, if dark colors are what you're going for and it's an evening summer wedding, than, I say go with the navy blue.  Brown and bright pink look fabulous, but I say leave hte brown dresses for Fall or Winter.   If you want darker colors, how about trying other bright colors, like orange, yellow or green?

Here's one from the same seller in the same color, but different style. We bought 5 dresses from this seller. All are NWT and returnable, refundable. If you can find something everyone likes in sizes they need, its much cheaper. Dresses have been great!

    http://cgi.ebay.com/After-Six-6523-Bridesmaid-Formal-American-Beauty-10_W0QQitemZ370283040758QQcmdZViewItemQQptZBridesmaid_Dress?hash=item563696cff6

Actually,it looks like they have the color in several styles. I found at least 3 in doing a quick search. If you find you like a certain color and let them pick what style they like, its a much more inexpensive option. Hope this helps!

I had bright pink and orange flowers and my maid of honor wore a coffee-colored dress which I think complimented the flowers without making the dress stand out too much and the colors of the flowers pop.
