@JessieGrey:  Hi Jessica, welcome to the bee, I’m replying so I can see if anyone comes up with anything.  I’m a UK waiting bee too and really like the idea of moissanite but I’m a bit wary to order one having not seen it in IRL.  Hope we get an answer ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello welcome! Im quite new myself =)

You can buy moissanite from Jewellerycentre.co.uk and you can visit their showroom to view particular items. They are in West Yorkshire. Ive not bought from them but I did consider them. Very.co.uk also sell moissenite erings not sure how big the range is but they have a free returns policy if you don’t like it. Ive also heard thst there are places in thr Birmingham jewellery quarter that make and design moissanite jewellery.

I hope some bees that have actually bought moissanite might advise you further.

I purchased from MCo and I wasn’t happy with their customer service at times. They seemed rude. Otherwise, the ring looked beautiful.

Hi, I live in Scotland and we got my ring from MoissaniteCo. Their service was fantastic, quick delivery and the ring is beautiful! Slightly large in size but I don’t mind that much.

Hi Jessie, I am not from UK, I am from Ireland. I made 3 purchases from MoissaniteCo.com and planning my 4th at the moment. My experience was good. I don’t know where to see moissanite in person in UK but I know 2 online places: http://www.littlewoods.com/  and http://www.moissanite.co.uk/. Hope it helps

@JessieGrey:

I’m not sure if mine is big because MCo run large, or if I simply ordered the wrong size (although I think I’ve heard other people on here say that they do run slightly large). I ordered a size 7 (UK N) after getting measured in a local store. It still feels comfortable (esp. when my hands are warm), but when my hands are normal temp it turns quite a bit, and it feels very loose when my hands are cold. I have lost weight too, so I don’t know how much of it is that.

Basically I’d probably say order true size, or maybe half a size down if you’re particularly worried about it.

Remember to add on VAT and customs duty if you order from an American retailer! You might have to do some sums to work out whether it’s cheaper to order from the US and pay the extras or to buy from the UK.

Not an obvious place but you might have seen Very.co.uk sell Moissanite rings here: http://www.very.co.uk/moissanite/e/b/4294954712.end Quite a decent selection, in my opinion.

Congratulations on beginning to look for engagement rings!

I ordered from MoissaniteCo, and for the most part I was very happy with the way it went. I know some other bees on here had different experiences, but I ordered mine and it arrived in two weeks in perfect condition. They’re beautiful rings and I’m thrilled! As far as VAT and customs, they box was shown as $100, (I suppose they do this to prevent stealing) and thats what the post went on, so the duties weren’t so bad at all. The only thing was that the set I bought ended up being a bit bigger sizewise, so I had to have it sized down immediately after I received it. But this might have been because the bands are quite wide, so perhaps it’s my fault.
