Anyone know where I could go and just buy a ring Setting without the center stone? Here is a pic of the setting I do want.. A halo… I would purchase this at blue Nile but they don’t sell just the settings.. I would like to have a forever brilliant center stone instead. I didn’t really like how the settings looked at moissanite co, so I figure I search around before I buy a loose stone.

They’re a chain store, but if you’re looking for just the setting they will sell those online

Have you tried emailing blue nile to see if they will let you buy just the setting?

Have you looked at other online moissanite stores? This is from moissanite bridal (not Mo Co).

Daisylovex3: JamesAllen sells the settings alone. Ive heard the reason Blue Nile doesnt is because of issues with measurements (eg – 1ct stone is not always the same size, they make a setting for someones stone size and it doesnt fit, sad customer). And a halo would not easily be resized for the centre stone. Plus, Im sure part of it would be that they want to sell you their diamonds as well. Still, it might be worth contacting Blue Nile and asking if they will make an exception. Mention you are getting moissy and will know exact size etc. I think James Allen overcomes the sizing issue because you send them the stone to set?? Not sure but I know they do sell just the settings! Hopefully they have one similar 🙂

I’ve been hearing great things about James Allen on here. I’ve also seen beautiful work by Mark Morrell that sells settings only, but his are a totally different style from what you are looking for.

Oh! You also might want to try Wink at High Performance Diamonds. He would definitely sell a setting alone and his work looks gorgeous. I know he would gladly work with moissy for you.

im in the UK and Blue Nile sent me just a setting. I wanted to change my original setting and couldn’t decide between two so they sent one with my diamond mounted and the other one to look at. Admittedly it was just the band with a gap, it didn’t have the prongs but as I understand it I think most jewellers can get most prongs. I think the setting they sent me was unpolished too. It might be worth asking

My fiance got my ring off Adiamor and he really enjoyed the experience. It is great quality, there is always someone who you can talk to on the phone or by emai. Took about 5 days for it to get set and then free expedited shipping no more than 3 business days from the shipping date. Mine came with appraisal papers and the GIA certification. I just checked and you can buy the settings alone.

We purchased both the diamond and the mounting from deBebians, but they also sell just the settings. This one looks pretty close to what you want: http://www.debebians.com/cushion-halo-engagement-ring-for-round-diamond.html
We’ve had a great experience through them and have referred many of our friends. Good luck and let us know when you get your dream ring 🙂

outofideas: Miss.E.91: MsKaren: I tried asking blue Nile if they would alone just sell me the setting since I would have a loose forever brilliant stone but they told me they don’t sell the setting that I wanted. /: bummer also I went to James Allen website to ask about the setting & loose stone and they said they could do it but they mentioned that mounting a moissanite can be brittle? Is this true? She said she recommends if I sent 2 stones…
