Trivia about the couple. I love knowing more about them, especially if I don't know them THAT well. Plus trivia is always fun.

oohh the trivia one is really good!  We did that at our engagement party and people LOVED it!

What about the toilet paper wedding dress?  Break up in teams and each team chooses someone to be their model for the toilet paper wedding dress.  Whoever has the best dress, wins!

I'm not usually big on games at showers, but I do love the toilet paper wedding dress one!

The trivia thing is fun - one way to do it is to have your MOH or the hostess ask your FI a set of questions ahead of time. Then at the shower, your MOH reads the questions to you, and you have to see if you can give the same answer your FI gave. Each of your guests writes down the number that they think you'll get right, and whoever is closest wins a little prize. It can be really funny to hear the differences in answers.

I hosted a shower where most of the guests didn't know one another. We did a trivia game with a twist, where each guest had a bingo card with trivia questions in each block, and they had to ask people from different chapters of the bride's life for the answers they didn't know to fill in the card. It was a good ice-breaker at the beginning and helped guests figure out who was who in relation to the bride.

I LOVE the version polkadot mentioned, I actually came back to mention that! Some of the funny questions include:

    * When was your first kiss?

    * What is [groom]'s most annoying habit?

    * What is [bride]'s dream job?

    * Most embarassing moment (for both)?

    * What the grooms first gift to the bride and what was it for?

    * Who initiated the relationship?

    * HOW did they iniate the relationship?

    * What was the first home-made meal he cooked for you [the bride]? (or HAS he ever...)

    * What is the groom’s favorite food?

    I LOVE this game, obviously.

My sister-in-law made a jeopardy game that was really fun. We did that on top of trivia questions, where I was asked a whole bunch of questions about my husband. She also made up a crossword puzzle using a free website.

Mwahaha. We played this awesome relay one at a friend of mines! lol.

You have to have at least 8 people. You split into 2 teams. So, if you have 4 people on each team, one sits at the end of the room in a chair with whip cream and cherries. The other 3 (theorertically) go to the other end of the room (or yard. This is best played outside!) Each team gets a cucumber to stick between their knees. The have to hop to the team mate in the chair with out dropping it or they have to start over. Once they get to the chair the team mate have to put whip cream and a cherryon top of the cucumber. Then the hop back to the line with out losing the whip/cream or cherry (or they have to start over). Then you flick the whip cream off and pass it to the next persdon in line. SO FUN! lol.

This was such a big hit!  For my sisters shower, I wrapped a teddy bear in a box.  Then I told the ladies that inside this box was a "teddy" and as I played the music and it stopped, the person holding the box would need to unwrap a layer of wrapping paper.  The person who unwrapped it last, would have to put the "teddy" on to show my sister how one is properly worn!  Tips - I wrapped the box about 7-8 times and used the same paper for the first and last.  I told the ladies that the last one matched the first so when they saw that last layer, the box "flew" around the circle.  Another tip is that I found a cheap pair of lacey undies (size L or XL) and before the game started I told them the matching teddy was wrapped inside.  When the game ended, I pulled the woman aside before she unwrapped the final layer.  I took her into another room to quickly put on the "teddy".  Of course she unwrapped and saw that just a teddy bear was inside.  I had her put on the undies (over clothes) and she walked into the room holding the teddy.  Everyone LOVED it.

I also played the "how well does my sister know her FI" and for every question she got wrong, she had to eat a marshmallow.  I would suggest halving the marshmallows because they got a little big.

We also played the TP wedding dress game.  This turned out great and a tip is to give each lady their own roll rather than 1 per team.  They created some great dresses this way and I let my sister pick the winner.

We played a "purse scavenger hunt" where there's a list of things and the group or person with the most points win.  (lipstick 1 pt, condom is 12 pts, mace 5pts, etc.) I'm sure you can find it online. Also a guess the spice game (jars of spices)

My FMIL had a fun game at my shower... since my FI's family is huge, they don't really know me very well, and they are mostly older, we needed something kinda easy and not too complicated. She gave every lady 2 pieces of tissue paper and the entire group took turns putting the tissue paper wedding dress on me :) It was fun!
