Anyone know of a trumpet style, knee length, bridesmaid dress?

posted 5 months ago in Beehive

I'm the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding next month.  We've been creatively stretching the ol' budget and found some great bridesmaid dresses that need a bit of tweaking.

They are below the knee, pencil/mermaid style (fitted through down to the knees), and solid color satin.

To see the exact dress, it's a dress from Target called the sateen pencil dress.  Color is aqua.  They now have a shorter, just barely  knee length dress, but ours are almost calf-length.  We are having them shortened.

We're planning on adding sashes to them, but does anyone have any pictures of similar dresses or ideas of how to change this dress? I'm looking for some inspiration.

Some ideas I've had:

adding a sweetheart neckline

adding a brooch or embellishment to the neckline

having it hemmed to knee-length

We are definitely adding ivory sashes.

Any other ideas?  or do you have photos of similar dresses to share?

My sister got Jim Hjelm's 5657 for my wedding! It's absolutely beautiful. Not as pencil or trumpet-shaped though, more A-line.

I don't know why a couple of the links didn't work but here's another try:

Daydreamer33-

Thanks!  Those gave me a couple ideas, although mine is not flared at all.  It's definitely a true pencil/mermaid/trumpet style.

I'll keep looking, but that definitely helps me with a little inspiration. :)
