Awhile ago I was lucky enough to score a free dress. It has a tulle skirt (LOTs of tulle, it’s a ballgown) and a plain silk bodice. Since it is so simple and plain (it was a sample dress) I want to bling it up!
I think I have found a seamstress I would like to use. She said that the easiest/most cost effective way to dress up a dress is with fabric that’s already embroidered/beaded/glitzed. She recommended a store near her, but most of the fabrics there start at $150 a yard. Yikes.
I wanted to know if any of you ladies knew where to get pretty blinged/jeweled out bridal fabric for a bit cheaper. I have been looking at a vendor on ebay, but I’m just not sure she has what I want. For example:
I think this is GEORGOUS! But it is only in white, and I need Ivory. The ivory fabrics they DO have I’m not sure I really love. And I’ve also been looking at navy/teal mesh and tulle! (Not afraid of some color!) Again, not sure if I have found something I totally love yet.
Any suggestions? If it’s an actual store location, I am located in south Central PA, in driving distance of D.C, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, possibly even N.J. Thank you!
