Dying a petticoat is pretty easy. there are some great step by steps on the internet especially on youtube.

Otherwise I would suggest etsy or somewhere like uniquevintage that ships to NZ. i found it hard to get the right length though for my wedding (tea length) so I ended up making my own which was easy as well.

hey! I am from OZ, but might be able to help. I ordered mine from Brides Closet for $50 (they are an Australian company that sends work to asia, hence why its so cheap). I have to admit it took waaayyyy longer than it should have (about 3 months) as they had a change of ownership but my contact in OZ did her best to make sure I was informed as the work was being done and the petticoat was well made and the end result was what I wanted so for $50 I cant complain too much.

I made a really simple one for under my tea length dress. I got some plain white cotton fabric in the length that I wanted the petticoat- then I stitched the tulle to it. All the petticoats that I found were of rather scratchy materials and I really didn’t want to be scratching at my legs all day! So basically the cotton was underneath the tulle so it stopped the scratch!

If you want the tulle to peek out from under the hem of your dress then just make the cotton part shorter and stitch the tulle to the bottom edge- if you want a double pouff layer just use different widths/lengths of tulle so that the edge of one is longer.

@traveller:  I forgot to say that I ordered it in purple! You cant really guarantee the colour online, but like I said, I wont be picky for $50 🙂
