I cant talk to anyone in real life about this. I bought a dress a few weeks ago. I love it when It is on. I tried it on twice and both times I felt amazing in it. My sister cried and my super practical mom loved it too (shes usually the one saying “you only wear it for one day)
Anyways the problem is that on the hanger there is nothing I like about this dress. I wouldn’t have given it a second look in a magazine. The ads for it are awful. I like romantic and flowy with unique details. I love chiffon. I want to feel movement. This dress is very comfortable but it looks “stiff” and that is not mr. I’m embarrassed to tell people about it actually. This happen to anyone else??

Well if everyone is crying it must be beautiful

I’m that way. We pulled my dress because I like the asymmetrical look of the top & the store clerk insisted, but I even told the girls with me that there was no way I was getting that dress because i remember how ‘bleh’ is was in the picture online. Ended up being the PERFECT dress for me 🙂 No tears shed here, but to this day, I hate the catalog image of it.
Hope that helps 🙂

My dress looks totally boring on the hanger, and the ad for it also really doesn’t do much for it either. But on me it looks AMAZING! I would never have guessed, just looking at my dress on the hanger, that this would be the dress I would choose. But I absolutely love my dress and am so glad I chose it!
Just remember that on your wedding day your dress won’t be on a hanger it will be on YOU!

Mine looks really strange on the hanger too. I feel awful saying it, but even in the pictures from the wedding of it on the hanger it looks strange

I always think that about EVERYTHING. I never want to try anything on because clothes look so boring and shapeless on the hanger. I remember clothes shopping with my mom when I was little, and my mom scolding me…”You have to try it on!!!” haha. I totally hear ya….hangers don’t always do justice. Everyone’s wedding dress is just a dress, until it’s on you….and then it’s YOUR dress.

I feel the same way. The model pic of my dress does not do it justice. I would’ve never given it a second thought based on the pics. Even in person I was attracted to the fabric but didn’t think I would like anything else about it. Well, I loved it when I tried it on! It just looks droopy and boring on the hanger.

The dress I bought is not popular with anyone. But I love it! Like you say on the hanger it looks plain but on it has everything I wanted in my wedding dress.

oh man, mine looks a hot mess on the hanger and the model pics look like the model is having major cramps. the only thing that saved it for me and made me try it one was the fact that i described “ruffles, asymmetrical rouching, fitted to the upper thigh and buttons down the back” matched it perfectly. don’t worry, barely anyone will see it on the hanger and if you show pics of it to anyone when it is not on, hopefully they will think less of it and when they see it on you they will be floored that it could look so fabulous!

i hate my dress on a hanger. to me it looks like a pile of fabric on a hanger. it just takes someone to put shape and form into it for it to work and look great.

I def have the same problem, i dont like even photo’s of other brides in my dress let alone the model in the advert’s which does make me very nervous as i havnt even tried my dress on, i just had it held up to me….but all i keep thinking about is how my mum who is a very serious woman burst into tears and how the first thing that came out of my mouth was how much my fi would love it. and thats what i keep thinking back on.

Mine looks like a hot unshapely mess of wrinkly fabric on the hanger. Hopefully my photog can work some magic for the dress on the hanger picture.

I was the same way! Even still. I remember when the sales lady picked the dress for me and I saw it on the hanger… I was like “eh, it’s pretty but not really what I’m looking for”. And then she clipped me and and it was perfect! Even when I got my dress in, I look at it and still say the same thing, but once it’s on, it’s beautiful.

@GREGORR2 I agree! I have seen one picture on this blog with a picture of another girl in my dress, and I didn’t like it at all. But…on me…it flatters me in just the right ways! And the model pics from the dress websites are always weird!
