So I can’t seem to find exactly what I need in a lace or chiffon bolero that’s white, covers the back, no extra flowers, that I like and under $100. So I’m going to attempt to make my own via http://rainforestcouture.blogspot.com/2012/01/lace-bolero-sewing-day-4.html.
Anyone else do this? Any hints, tips etc? Or should I just keep looking for one I like?

Orrrr should I buy this:
and just add a backing to it and remove the ribbon?
Essentially that’s what I’m looking for is that but with a back…

Hi, I’m having the same dilemma, and I’ve decided to buy one from an Etsy vendor. It’s a sheer organza jacket with a ruffled collar. I’m getting married two weeks after you are, but I’m down in Texas; the weather is considerably warmer in late September here. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who is considering making one. IMO, if you love the bolero pictured, you can buy it and make the modifications; the back is the easy part 🙂

I didn’t make it myself but I found a seamstress who made it from materials I provided. I was changed $50 labour and paid $25 for materials. It came out exactly as I wanted. I considered etsy sellers, but couldn’t 100% trust that I knew it would fit.
