And if you did, how did you fix it?
I just dyed my hair from a dirty brown color to an auburn and I missed a freaking spot AT THE TOP. It just so happens to be a spot that is extra super highlighted from being in the sun on my honeymoon.
FI and I have to leave in about 20 minutes to meet some friends, but I am wondering if I can fix it by dyeing those spots when I get home (I bought an additional bottle and ended up not using it)?
Should I wait longer? What do I do? ;____; I am so embarrassed.
Thankfully I can pull my hair back and cover it for tonight and work tomorrow if necessary, mostly it’s just hurtful to my ego.

@icanhearyousmile: yes! Just cover that spot with dye to redo and you’ll be good to go

I miss spots all the time because I have a ton of long hair. I usually miss spots in the back by my neck. You can use your extra bottle any time, there is no waiting period needed.

@tksjewelry: Ditto, ditto, ditto!!! Except I’m usually too lazy to care. I’ve been having issues covering salon blonde highlights recently, and I’ve already dyed TWICE over it and still can’t get it out. (Who knew blonde would be so hard to cover?!) I’m kind of rocking an ombre thing on the underneath portions of my hair haha. 🙂

I did. Actually I missed a bunch of spots, I ended up looking like a cheatah! I just dyed it a chocolate brown though I waited a couple weeks beforehand.

What kind of peroxide are you using in your color?
I’m sitting here with my mother who is a hairstylist. Her advice is to use 10 volume peroxide (peroxide comes in different volumes, 10, 20, 30 etc. You can get it at Sally Beauty Supply) mixed with the hair color that you’re using (equal parts of each) and just put it on the spot.
If your hair color came with 20 volume peroxide and you can’t go get any 10 volume then cut the amount of the 20 in half when you mix up a new batch of the color. This is going to remedy the issue with the highlighted patch.
Kind of confusing… :-/

@adoc86: I don’t know? It’s Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color R2. It comes with the pre-made bottle of gel stuff and then the color and then some kind of other clear nonsense (like my professional words, there?). I read the ingredients buuut it doesn’t say. Don’t see it in the insturctions either. =

@icanhearyousmile: Hmm. Well my mom’s response confused me when I was typing it so I’m sure it wasn’t much help to you at all lol. I hope you got it figured out!

I dye my own hair all the time, and I’ve only ever NOT missed a spot once. Just use the dye when you have spare time. Should be fine.
