I do not have any DIY stuff either. Crafting is not something I enjoy, nor would it turn out well. I feel like often by the time you buy everything for crafts you end up spending just as much money as you would have buying it premade.

Lol I’m actually the opposite! I didn’t think I would end up DIY’ing anything and I’m doing a lot! Invitations, ceremony decor, ok I guess that’s it

@goingtotherooftopoflove: My neither. No DIY’ing here. Too much extra stress, coordination, planning, blah, blah, blah. I like the idea of DIY but when it comes down to it, I don’t want to deal with the time and aggravation of not only getting the DIY projects done but then transporting them to the venue, setting them up, etc.

@LilRhodyGem: Exactly. I love all the ideas floating in my head but I am just too busy, lazy, and damn un-crafty to actually pull any of it off.

@goingtotherooftopoflove: my mom is paying for our wedding.
when you say no DIY, do you mean every aspect of the wedding?
my graphic designer friend designed my invitations but i told her how I wanted them to look, then we sent them to vistaprint, same with my STD.
we are creating our own seating cards and wedding program, but are having them printed.
hair, makeup, dj, photography, videography, centerpieces, flowers are all being done by professionals. am i missing anything?
i wouldn’t call my wedding DIY, but there may be a handful of things that I am doing.

@goingtotherooftopoflove: I did one or two DIY projects but only because I wanted to prove to myself that I could. I am definitely in the camp of preferring to pay vendors and individuals to do for me…that is why Etsy was such a godsend!

I did some DIY stuff when it came to the flowers, decorating, and invitations, but mainly for budgetary reasons. I left the other things like food, DJ, photography, etc. to the pros.
Do you have a friend or family member that is crafy and could help you out, or could help you better communicate your ideas to a third party? Are you having a wedding planner, who can help make your visions come to life?
It’s always frustrating when you have an idea of how you want something to look/go, and someone else just doesn’t grasp it!

@goingtotherooftopoflove: MEMEME! I’m the DIY apocalypse. I’m great at cooking and designing things with a computer but when it comes to hands on? Hell no. I designed my invitations but when it came to printing them, cutting them and assembling them, I paid someone to do it. Because I know better.
There will be no glue, glitter, scissors, ceramic or anything else crafty in my home.
I’m assembling some things, but the complexity of that is no more than “put sticker on. Put in bag. Repeat.”
