I’m getting married in Vegas, small wedding with about 25 family and friends. I’m flying there the day before the wedding. I’m debating on whether to get a hair trial or not. I do have the whole day, but we would like to get the license that day as well. So not sure what to do.

@MiJeS1104: Well, either I’m doing my own hair or my cousin is, so no trial per se. I would say it depends on how you found your stylist and how much you trust her. If you are going to be nervous about it, it’s better to do the trial and feel at ease.

I’m not having one.. My cousin who is a stylist, will be doing my hair.. She lives in California and will be in the night before.. I sent her multiple pics of the style I want so she will be practicing on her friends or dolls.. I know it will come out awesome.

@MiJeS1104: My sister is doing my hair, so we will play around with it. If I didn’t have a sister that was pretty good with hair I might consider it, but only because we will be at our Destination Wedding 5 days before the wedding.

I’m having a destination wedding in Mexico. I don’t think I will have a hair trial, but haven’t decided yet… It’s scary, no? My hair is quite thick and unevenly curly. (wavy in front, ringlets in back) most hairdressers have a hard time cutting it, but styling would be different, right? Scary.
I think I’ll gather lots of pics, then show them to my normal hairdresser to get her opinion on what would work best. After that, I’ll keep an eye on what is happening to my hair day of. I hope it will be enough.

My wife and I did not do hair trials. One of our bff’s who came along on our cruise wedding is a stylist and did our hair and make-up as our wedding gift.

I’m not getting a hair trial…and I’m pretty nervous about it! But, I have hair that is easy enough to work with (medium length, fine texture, but thick quantity of it), and I’m not going to be getting anything too crazy. Plus, our ceremony and reception will be super short (like, 2 hours tops), so it won’t have to hold up for any length of time. I’ll also be spending the day before the wedding with my family and friends who are coming to Jamaica to see us get married…so, it would be kind of weird to be walking around all day with my wedding hair, ya know?

I am having a small wedding as well and I don’t plan on having a hair trial. I’m simply just having it curled by my sister so I am not too worried.

I had Maui DW- no hair or makeup trial. Everything turned out perfectly! I just showed pics online of what I wanted my hair and makeup like.

@little_d: Yea, I was going to pick out some styles and bring some pics with me. I’m nervous to take the risk, but at the same time I think everything will come out okay. I kinda rather enjoy the day there and be with my family then sitting in a chair for two hours to do a trial. But I still have time to change my mind. 🙂

No trial for me. I just wont have time. It is a bit scary, but the salon says they do brides hairdos all the time without trials….so we shall see in 6 days!!

@MiJeS1104: Are you really picky? Do you have a spceific vision of how your hair should look? If so, I would do a hair trial the day before. If not, then the stylist can play around with a few styles the day of the wedding; it may not be exactly what you envision but I am sure your hair will look great.

Having a Destination Wedding in Cabo, no hair trial for me. I’m not too worried about it!

@MiJeS1104: I am having a Destination Wedding in Maui, so I will not be doing a hair trial. I trust that whoever the Ritz-Carlton has working in their spa will be able to make my hair look nice, because they do wedding hair all the time.

I did have a trial with a hair and makeup artist last August, but the week of the wedding I sent her an email and she said she had forgotten about our wedding. I freaked out, called my good friend who is the hair and makeup artist for the local Fox news station and I put my trust in her. I did something totally different than what we had done in the trial with the other artist, and I couldn’t have been happier! No trial, just trust and a Pinterest board.
