I'm just not a traditional strapless ballgown kind of a girl. Mostly, they look horrible on me. Does anyone have a gown or pics of gorgeous gowns that have something else going on? Like a portrait neck or cap sleeves etc?

I'm kind of impartial to strapless gowns, but FI is not a fan of strapless, so I went to look for something with straps since he was the only one between us who had a strong opinion.
So...here's mine (on a model obviously) - Alfred Angelo 1185. I love it :)
Mine isn't strapless!!! For some reason I tend not to wear strapless things..alot of times shirts and stuff don't stay up and I don't like strapless bras...

My gown is going to be strapless, but I'm going to wear a bolero jacket. I don't really post any pictures of the dress because I want to keep it a secret ;-)

The Monique Lhuillier in the original post is so amazing. I love organza, lace and straps on a dress; it's like all my favorite elements in one. I could never afford that, though. Do you know the style name? (so I can stalk oncewed et al. lol)
This was my #2 gown. A mob of women almost ripped it off me in the store, apparently they liked it too. some times I still go back and forth.
@Amaryllis I think it's "Katya". Its from her Spring 2010 collection, which has a LOT of romantic lacey, chiffony gowns. Good luck huntin'

Gorgeous dresses! I can't contribute cause I've got a strapless gown but sometimes I do wish I had gone with straps.

My dress will have Ruched Sleeves.... I dont have a pic of the finish product because it is not done yet but here is an idea...
I personally did not want a strapless bc of comfort and not having to tug it up all day

My dress has the cap sleeve option as well...but I havent decided if I'll wear them or not!
i always wanted cap sleeves, but ended up with spaghetti straps. i don't have pictures, too paranoid that my fi will find it!
I'm keeping mine a surprise, but yes, mine is not strapless. Jasmine carries a lot of lovely dresses that are not strapless. Mine is a Jasmine from the spring 2010 collection :-)
Here's mine! I was not that into strapless as I'm pretty busty and didn't want to worry about things going...awry, if you catch my drift.

@lilmiss: i <3 your pictures!! i gasp everytime i see them, you were a stunning bride!!
My dress is designed as a strapless gown (it's from Private Label by G) but my tailor who is doing my alterations was able to put a halter strap on to it. You should see if this is possible for any dress you like too, it definitely opens up a lot more possibilities.
My dress is long sleeves, its in January so it works. I haven't seen it in almost 2 years. (Had to buy it prior to an international move) I can't wait until I move back to the US and the bridal shop lets me take some photos in it.

all you ladies have BEAUTIFUL dresses!!!!! I love the look of the capsleeve, but I don't know what I will end up in when I get engaged!!

I know I've posted my dress about a bazillion times, but I just loved it so much! Non-strapless was actually one of my most important criteria for a dress. 
I didn't initially think I wanted straps, but I ended up with this beauty. It's supposed to be in the store in a week or so! I can't wait!
DVsMom, gorgeous dress! There aren't enough beautiful gowns out there with sleeves, IMHO. And I love that cummerbund waist.
Here is me in my dress ... I LOVED that it wasn't strapless. That was the only thing I knew going into dress shopping.
