@laceandpearls10:  Hi! Congrats on your marriage! While I cannot say from personal expereince I know a few girlfriends who did not wait the month to regular and ended up KU that month. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise I didn’t think there was a problem with NTNT straight after the pill. (I really know a lot of people who this happened to as a “happy accident” when they went off BC because they thought they def couldnt get pregnant in the first month).

Best of luck, we just got married a week ago and are TTC now too 😀

@laceandpearls10:  I started right away as well, there’s no reason you “need” to wait, it’s just easier to chart and have a starting point. It worked our first month trying, but we lost the pregnancy… We are now four cycles past that with no baby. I’d put in your 2 days of spotting as your first AF, but I wouldn’t start “charting” per se until you bleed next.

My doctor told me to wait one full cycle (so, from withdrawal bleed until first real period) before trying, but she said it was mainly because it’s easier to calculate a due date, etc. She wasn’t very adamant about it at all though and plenty of people do get pregnant that first cycle.

I am glad you posted this question. We got married June 9th. We have been together for over 5 years and are actively TTC. I want to be pregnant SO bad. I was on the Nuvaring and took it out and had a normal period at the end of June. We are doing the everyother day BD. I am thinking we may buy some OPK’s because things come up and we aren’t keeping the everyother day thing very religously. Good luck to you!!!! I am hoping things happen right away for us! Who knows I could be preggers right now!!!

@laceandpearls10:  We didn’t wait. I got off BC, had bleeding like you did about 2ish days later, and then started charting. I got pregnant on my 2nd cycle.

My first month, I counted those “spotting” days as my period and went from there. CM was never a really good indication for me, but I temped and it was obvious when I O’d.

Congrats on the new marriage!

I never regulated and am now 6 months pregnant. I charted and found out I ovulated 1x in 7 months and one time was all that it took. Congrats on the marriage and good luck.

Not only did I not wait a cycle, I didn’t even finish the pack. When my husband suggested going off birth control, I stopped right there (still had a week of regular pills left). I had a very light period 2 days after quitting, and then nothing for 7 weeks, when I got my period again (those extra three weeks sucked as I was convinced I was pregnant). I got pregnant the next cycle. So I conceived about 9 weeks after quitting the pill midpack.

When it’s time for us, I’m just going to pull the goalie out of the game and hope for the best.

I’ve also heard that women who have trouble ovulating on their own can trigger it by coming off hormones so if you wait you could miss that benefit.

Different bodies react differently to going off the Pill. Some people reflex ovulate right away, and some take awhile to regulate.
