Look, I want to look like a freakin movie star on my day.  I dont want to look "natural" or like "me but better".  If we end up having a big wedding and pay the ridiculous amount that we want for photos/video I want to look like Im on a magazine cover.  I want to look like Angelina freakin Jolie ( a great feat being that I am Black and all, but whatever).

FI says I act like the wedding day is a day to be a model.  I mean, uh yeah!!!!  Alll that money we will sink into it and I can't be a model on my wedding day?  Yeah freaking right.  We better build a cat walk on the reception dance floor, Im not even kidding.

Who's with me?  ( Unless I really am nutso here, lol)

I want to look like me if I were a model!  Screw Angelina Jolie, I say.  I want to look like me when I'm looking hot enough to blow Angelina out of the water.

of course! why else would I shell out for a makeup and hair artist?, If any day is appropriate to look like a freaking movie star, no, BETTER than a movie star, it needs to be this day. I am so with you on this one!

I am usually super low-maintanence, but on my wedding day I wore extensions, fake lashes, and a push-up bra...my fiance was like "is anything real on you??", but he liked it.  I figured, if there was ever a day to go all out like that, my wedding day was the day.  It paid off because I've gotten LOADS of compliments on my hair and makeup, and lots of other brides want to use my make-up girl.  I wanted to look and feel like an old fashioned movie star on the red carpet, and I feel like I accomplished that.  It was a great day!

Everyone time I picture myself getting married I actually picture Kiera Knightley marrying my fiance, I really really want to look like that! But any other day I'm usually wearing a tshirt and no make up!

Heck yeah!  I went all out.  It's not every day that I shell out thousands of $$ on a dress, jewelry, shoes, hair & makeup for myself.  And it was all totally worth it!!  :)

Love this thread! ;) I didn't want to look like "myself" either. I mean, I wouldn't have gone blonde or something drastic (that would have looked awful on me, anwyay), but when I saw our pictures I felt like I looked like a different person.. which was awesome because I think I looked great. ;)

Oh hell yea! I think I'm so average and plain, I really want to stand out and feel beautiful on my day. I'm still contemplating whether I'm going to do my hair and makeup myself, but I'm sure going to make myself look glamorous!

Woo-hoo! I'm in. "Natural" is overrated. :) I mean, I wanted to be recognizable, and there was an emphasis for me on being "real" (no crazy retouching, etc.), but I think it's totally warranted to want to look your absolute best on your wedding day. I mean that's the point! You have the rest of your life to look "nice."

@spaniel:  You looked so beautiful!!  I loved your makeup (mmm, purple), the earrings and the glossy hair!

@oyster: Yes see that's what Im saying.  I look like Aubergold everyday and while she is fine and perfectly acceptable, I want to look like Auberfold ON FIRE, lol.

Flamingred, you look so beautiful.  Love the style, very glam.

Oh yeah I am going to go all out for mine!

I was telling my mom about fake eyelashes the other day and she thought it was ridiculous, but really it's the norm with my friends at least.

Me! I am going all out! I don't walk around everyday in a $1,500 dress, so my regular face and hair just won't do!

I wasn't going for anything in particular & while my make up was being done I kept having to resist the urge to ask her to tone it down - but in the end I looked like the best version of me I could have been. I had people tell me I looked like I should have been in a magazine & that I looked like a model (Maybe one who needs to grow about a foot and loose about 10kg - but still an awesome compliment nonetheless!) but yeah, me but as you said, on fiiiiiiire! LOL

I'm MOST afraid that on my day I will look TOO much like my normal, every day self *laughs* That's one of my wedding phobias.

I've never seen a photo of me that I didn't hate and want to destroy. The idea of feeling that way about our wedding photos terrifies me. So I want to look better than I ever have in my life... "picture perfect". No, I don't want to look like someone else... I just want to look like the most stunning version of me that I can possibly be.

I intend to have hair extensions (to my own normal length, but to add volume), airbrush makeup, false lashes, possibly a light fake tan, I'm in the process of having my teeth "fixed" (something that I've needed for a LONG time but wedding photos have been the motivation to finally do it) etc.

I also really hope that when my boy sees me on the day, he'll be moved... I want him to get a great big old surprise at how gorgeous I can be. I want to see "wow" written all over his face. And the normal me that he wakes up to every morning just isn't going to cut it.
Now, if only losing weight and toning up was something I could do on the day *laughs*

Agreed COMPLETELY! I was starting to think I was crazy for not wanting just a little bit of makeup to look "natural" since I feel like that's all I hear when it comes to makeup... I figure if we're shelling out over $2,000 for photos, I want to look damn good in all of them!

I totally agree.  I want to be hot and my makeup to be perfect.  They better be the most perfect pictures that I have ever taken in my whole life and still look good when I'm all wrinkly and have liver spots.  I can look like myself everyday but you have the one day to look like Hollywood drove up to the front door and gave you the hottest version of yourself.

PFFT, I was so happy when I read this post!! I feel EXACTLY the same. I have huge 'jolie' lips naturally - I'm doing bright red lips with catty eye liner. I'm embracing my lips, I want to look vintage magazine fab - Fake eye lashes and all Kiss

I'm having a huge feathered flower in my hair with netting in it and bling... And Let's not forget the extensions.

LOVE this thread...... Ummm as you-all can see from my avatar I am a Diva!!! And if you-all have checked out the sneak peek of my bridals I 100 percent don't look like myself :o)... Well.. That's not true. I am glamtastic and think I look EXACTLY like myself everyone else disagrees and said I look different but "fierce" was the term the photogs kept using.

I was going for glamorous art deco screen siren sex kitten (that is exactly what I told the m/u artist). She teased and asked if I wanted whiskers.... I saw the pictures and OMG she nailed it!!!!!
