Looking for new recipes to try, I'm into my fourth week and am starting to lose my mind! Over the weekend I ate like an animal (PMS'ing doesn't help) and am going into this week at -20 points. :( So far I have lost 5 lbs and I feel great, 10 more weeks until my first dress fitting, I hope to lose 15 more lbs by then.

I did WW about 5 years ago and used a few recipes off of their site which came out pretty well (I think mostly chicken and rice dishes). I ended up losing about 25lbs in 6 months (had I skipped all those happy hours it'd probably be more haha). Since then I've only fluctuated about 5lbs, so I swear by this diet. It really does become more of a lifestyle than a fad diet. Congrats on the 5lbs...that's awesome! I'm sure you will reach your goal in time!

Haha, I know what you mean about the happy hour! Had I not had drinks this weekend I probably wouldn't be -20! Damn those Mojitos!

speulie My WW buddy and I eventually learned to "bank" points for happy hour. Not sure if that's allowed in the newer system. I had to be extra strict during the week but it paid off. If you can find someone to do WW with you I think it's all the more helpful. We used to cook some of the recipes together and work out while it was cooking. I think you are renewing my motivation to get toned up in time for my big day. (Which is 1 week from yours! Yay 10/2010 brides!)

I always save my extra 35 bonus points for the weekend. My fiance' is sort of doing WW with me but I'm basically doing it for him.. He eats what I eat and I count up the points in my head and give him estimates, lol. At least he's supporting me, it helps so much! He's the type though that if I'm pms'ing and want to eat a piece of chocolate cake or have 3 glasses of wine he isn't going to tell me no..  I can't wait to get 10 more lbs off and start toning my body!

I did WW about 10 years ago.  I lost a lot of weight and I still recommend it to anyone that will listen.  I was bored too, I tended to stick to eating the things that I could count easily- boring.  Then by the end of the week I was craving junk food.  It still worked though!  Even now, I still can't help but count the points in my head.  I'll never forget the point value of certain foods.  I was at Barnes & Noble the other day and in the magazine section there was a WW book with so many amazing recipes.  It was about $10, which is a lot for a magazine but I'm telling you- it will give you food options for days!  Not only for lunches and dinners, but for desserts and entertaining too.  You have to find the magazine!  It will help break up the monotony.

I've been doing WW since April and have lost 17 pounds :) I want to lose at least another 5 more before my wedding in Sept. I'm also training for a half marathon so I think all the running has definitely helped to take the weight off. This is a great program though & definitely teaches you about portion control. I also keep my extra points for the weekend. I don't ususally count as strictly on Saturdays & Sundays but that is also when I have my long runs and have lots of extra points. Congrats on the 5 pounds & keep it up!

Thanks Jennifer_espos, I'll have to see if I can find it! Did you ever try to compensate for a bad day or weekend by eating less the next day? I ate a WW english muffin with WW cream cheese for breakfast and was going to just have veggies and fruit for lunch and a large baked potato with salsa for dinner but I don't want it to mess my weight loss up if I come in under points, I'm at 22 right now. And of course I plan to work out this week, which I haven't been doing since I've been losing anyway.. Ugh, I need to move on and get over it already! I'm just in a funk today... On top of beating myself up my oldest sister (6 years older than me) emailed me this morning and was bragging how she's 145lbs now and you can bounce a quarter off her a$$ and how fabulous she's going to look at MY wedding. Grrrr
