@MrsRevolutionize:  FH has a tungsten wedding band, but his is just tungsten. He chose it because he’s a welder and couldn’t wear gold. It doesn’t shatter really easily. It’s just that when it’s put under a lot of pressure, like he works with cars, and some machinary falls on his hand, instead of the band being smushed into his finger and possibly crushing his finger, the tungsten will shatter and his finger should be fine. FH has dropped his a few times and it’s held up fine. It is resistant to scratches. As far as the plating, I don’t see why it would be an issue having it replated if need be.

@MrsRevolutionize:  I’m sure it wouldn’t affect the inlay. I imagine that it works the same way with redipping white gold rings with diamonds. I’m not sure how the process works but I imagine the whole ring is dipped? You could call a jeweler and ask them how it would work.

It’s a lovely ring though. I wish FH could wear gold (but he has to worry about the heat and gold melting).
