Okay, so I have heaps of time to get wedding rings in order but I’m curious about Gemvara. I’ve seen a few there that I really like and in terms of price (compared to what I can get here is Oz) they’d be great. The only thing is, is really like to see some real life pictures of rings. I’m interested to see what the craftsmanship is like and hear from bees of the stone quality.
These are the rings I like:
Thanks everyone 🙂

I don’t have a picture, but I purchased a new ring for my hubby from there. I was very happy with the whole experience. Everyone was very helpful and I got my ring in the time they said I would. I was also very pleased with how the ring looked…the stones are beautiful in it!
Sorry I don’t have a picture, but I hope that helped you out a little!

I’m curious about this too….they have some great looking diamond bands..

@itsmeetam: This picture is not the best, but here are my right hand rings from Gemvara – I know it can be frustrating to have to wade through reviews to find just a handful of “real life” pictures of their jewelry.
The gemstones in my rings are absolutely beautiful! I’m pretty particular and I haven’t had any issues with any of the pieces craftsmanship-wise (but if I did, I’d be confident that they would bend over backwards to fix it).
‘ve been really happy with their products and their customer service is very good. I’ve actually been considering the 5-stone “Stanza” band you linked to to pair with my ering.
I wanted to add one more picture of this one because the fire opal looks busted for some reason in the first pic. It’s not – it’s FLAWLESS! This stone is so breathtaking in person!

I had issues because my finger size is so small..the iolite and amethyst band is from Gemvara and it is very uncomfortable to wear. They did not tell me that this ring should not be sized down to a 3.5. I had to take it to a different jeweler to have stones and prongs removed from the sides so that I could stand to wear it. Went from a 9 stone ring to a 5 stone
Now I wear it as a stand in ring sometimes

@megan331979: No worries about the picture. It helps to know that they’ve provided you with something you’re happy with. I read somewhere that some of the detail in the intricate metalwork wasn’t at all up to scratch but then again, there are so many great reviews.
@starla: I’ve seen your rings in another thread and they’re gorgeous! In fact I have a few of them on my wish list! That fire opal is to die for. I’m thinking sometime in the future I would like to get a few RHRs from them. That stanza ring is so pretty and I think it would set off my solitaire e-ring perfectly as my wedding ring.
@JessMorgan777: Thanks for your feedback, it’s handy to know as I have smaller fingers too. I’ve been leaning toward the seven stone “artisan” band but maybe that would be a problem, I’ll have to contact them about sizing.

I’m in the process of getting a ring from Gemvara. I ordered the Volga band (5 stone) in a size three and a half. That size seemed fine in jewelery stores but it turned out to be too small. (Not gemvara’s fault, I just didn’t know what I was doing (:) The ring had no issue with being such a small size like PP though.
Also, I ordered the ring with green tourmaline and London blue topaz but it turned out to be way too dark. I know smaller stones (like the 3 mm ones in the ring) arent as bright but it still wasn’t what I was expecting.
I called asking the price difference if I were to switch the tourmaline to white sapphire, and to request a ring sizer. They said they would get back to me. A week later I had received a ring sizer but no price info. I called and asked again. The woman I spoke with was very helpful and very apologetic I had never heard back. And turns out the price difference was about $20 so they would do it free.
I sent my ring back and received an email they had received it. I didn’t get any further info about a timeframe until I emailed them. The ring had to be remade so it’s taking a while. But according to the one email I’ve gotten I should get the ring back October 9th.
Overall, good and not so good. I’m hoping it will be all worth it in the end.
PS: sorry this is so long, damn. Lol

@Verlidaine: lol no worries about the long post, it’s helpful! So good and bad for you then… hopefully you get your ring and you’re happy with it. I really like the Volga band as well but I guess Madisson is similar to it only instead of 3mm gems, they’re 2mm (I like a narrower band). Please post pics of the ring on your finger when you get it!!! Hehe

I looked up my past order: http://www.gemvara.com/jewelry/trinity-ring/mens-round-black-onyx-sterling-silver-ring-with-white-sapphire/1127d
There is a picture in the reviews of my hubby’s ring that I took when I got it….like I said…I was very pleased overall with the service…I did forget to mention in my first post that I did have an issue with a special request I had asked them, which they didn’t follow through. I could have pushed it further and got it done, but I just chose not to. I had asked if they would make his band comfort fit…they told me they could do it and just to mention it on the order form….well I did, but they never made it comfort fit. I’m sure if I contacted them and told them they would have fixed it at no charge, but I didn’t tell them. We still like the ring and I would purchase from them again.

@itsmeetam: I did get my ring on the 9th. And apparently FI had gotten an email with shipping info he forgot to tell me about! It fits now. The London blue topaz is still dark so it’s hard to catch the color with pictures. and it is a unique sort if color.
Anyway, I’m very happy with it now. I’m trying to attach a pic but it does not seem to be working.

I would love to see more too! I’ve had my eye on this baby for awhile:

Don’t have a pic on this computer, but my engagement ring was from there. I picked it out myself and love it! It’s a pink sapphire with white gold (it’s the Matilda ring). My FI’s parents said it looks a lot like a pink version of Kate Middleton’s ring – I’ll take it! 🙂
I know that my FI got great service from them, and they were super nice and helpful. I recommend them!

@Verlidaine: wow, that looks great! Yeah on the cad generated pics, the blue topaz looks quite dark but I quite like that. I might seriously consider getting my wedding band from them.
@FutureDrAtkins: that is a beautiful ring, I’ve also got my eye on it for a “just because” ring, lol. I just love how you can customise the stones and the metal on the site, it’s heaps fun and quite dangerous!
@megan331979: it’s comforting to know you’d order from them again. I’m very reluctant to make purchases like these online without hearing from people who have done so already, so thank you for answering the thread!
