We're thinking of choreographing a dance for me, the groom, my MOH and one of our groomsmen ... anyone else doing this?

We're all very excited to do it, but we only have a little over 2 weeks to plan! Yikes!

    Anyone have tips for this?

We're not having the traditional dancing reception, but I think it is an awesome idea. Have you looked to youtube for any inspiration. They are all hilarious. If you and your man are up to it, I think it would be great!

We took dance lessons for two months, and our instructor helped us put together our first dance.  It wasn't video-worthy, but we didn't want anything too fancy - just wanted to look like we knew what we were doing, and realizing that we would be nervous and distracted, wanted to practice it ahead of time.  You don't have a lot of time left - I'm not sure if it would be time to have a professional work with you on the choreography - but if you both have some dance experience and the time to spend working on it, I'm sure it will be great!  My DH had really never danced before (other than high school dances), so expecting him to learn anything in two weeks would have been completely unreasonable.

My best friend and her dad did a choreographed dance to sexy back at her reception. It was a hit!! I think you can definitly do it...just make it simple it doesn't have to be a dancing with the stars routine!!! Have FUN!!!

Yeah just have fun. Look up the video to your fave tune and try and learn some of the moves. The thriller one on youtube is fab!! Also dirty dancing. Something that everyone knows is always a hit. Or something that nobody was expecting. It doesnt have to be a masterpiece and perfect so dont stress about it either. Congratulations on the wedding. Enjoy your Big Day x

I would LOVE to do this, but my other half is against it.  We came to a compromise and agreed that our first dance would be to something more upbeat and that we'd take a few dance lessons so we can maybe do a simple two-step or something.  I hadn't thought of getting my dad involved though - gosh, that would be funny and he would totally do it.  Great idea!

We are doing this.  We're starting with our song, then flipping to "Are you Gonna Be My Girl" by Jet.  Haven't worked out a routine yet but we have 8 months, so we'll get to it in plenty of time.  It was my FI's idea (and he isn't creative or anything - he just wants it to be fun for everyone!)

Good Luck!  PS - You Tube is fantastic for this!
