We have stayed in Hot Springs (I think we were in the Holly cabin) and Asheville NC (Beau cottage). Both places were very nice. The Hot Springs cabin is more secluded. I don’t have photos on this computer, but here are links:

There are lots of really pretty places to stay in and around the Smokey Mnts and Blue Ridge Pkwy. 🙂

I’d suggets looking on vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). It’s a great site to look for houses!

When we were vacationing in Hawaii for a week, I suggested that we rent a vacation home.

I highly recommend VRBO.

My fiance and I are renting a house in the Smokey Mountains for our honeymoon. We found it on VRBO.com!

We rented a cottage for our first week. It was in Haiku so it was the rural area of Maui and VERY pretty. It was secluded without being completely removed. Even though we could see the main house from the kitchen window we rarely saw another person while on property. We loved that we could walk out the door and pick avocados, limes, lemons, and grapefruit without much effort (the coconuts, mango and bananas weren’t ripe)

the pictures online are almost identical to the actual cottage (the dresser from the main bedroom has been replaced with a chair and they added a bed to the living room)

Here’s the living room (that overlooks the meadow):
