Family concerns are a big thing for me, because my family is very conservative and therefore doesn't "believe" in strapless or revealing dresses. I am really happy with my dress but if it was just FI, me, and the officiant, I definitely would have gone for something a bit sexier!
Well some members of my family hate mermaid style dresses but I love them and I look good in them! So for a while I was afraid to even try one on but now I really think I will end up getting one. Its really about what makes me feel comfortable.
I think my skin tone is limiting me... i look bad in white! Haha. But I do love my dress, off-white and all.
I would love a lacy Pronovias or Monique Lhullier dress. But ended up with an Elizabeth Fillmore instead because of the wedding style: Hollywood Glam. And it just felt right to me
I would have done a totally fashion-forward, unique dress if I didn't think I'd hate it in 20 years :-)
I really want to wear a long gown as this is really the only time I will be able too.. but i secretly admire all the short wedding dresses out there - they are just so cute and fun!
I really like the look of mermaid dresses but it just does not suit my body type. I love love love Augusta Jones's dresses on the models but my short 5'3" frame with hips and a butt did not look as good in them as I wanted. I chose a Casablanca dress that I HATED on the hanger but loved the way I looked in. Its not what I always invisioned but oh well! Visions change!
