i am! i just started week 9 yesterday with a 3-mile jog with my sister. i just barely made it to the 3-mile mark [she actually ran farther] but i was stoked especially since i almost quit a couple of times during the run! and i actually went out for a quick 2.5 mi run today just because. lol. but i'm in the last 2 weeks before my first ever 5k next weekend so i'm really hoping to consistently hit 3+ miles the next few running sessions.
i am also a big fan of this program. without it, i wouldn't have become such a fan of running. i've been converted!
i just started this program yesterday =p i think week one will be fairly easy for me, its after this week that i'm a little nervous haha.
@tea: congrats on your 3 mile run! It feels like such an accomplishment from not being a runner at all to running such a long distance all at once! Good luck on your 5K, I have one planned about 2 weeks after I finish the program too!
@blondeeebuckeye: Don't be nervous! I can honestly say that weeks 2-5 were so much harder for me than weeks 6 and 7 and seven have been. Push through it because the feeling of accomplishment you get after is amazing :D
i think i can do it, but i KNOW it's gonna be hard :) normally when i put my mind to something, i ACCOMPLISH it, so i'm hoping this won't be any different. btw, you gave great advice on the thread i started about this the other day!!
@blondeeebuckeye, i totally agree with babyboo, when i did my first 5 minute run i was so excited i actually high fived myself at the end!
@babyboo, thanks! i'll be sure to report back and let you know how it goes. good luck on yours too!
Ladies I did it! I ran 3.14 miles in 28 minutes tonight!! I still have 5 more runs left (2 28 min, 3 30 min) and hope to get up to 3.5 miles by the end of my last 30 minute run :D
way to go babyboo! that is awesome progress! high five!
i hit 3.3 miles today and i found it was much easier than monday. probably because i didn't have to run any hills. i actually felt like i could run a little further.
thanks! awesome job on your run too :) doesn't it feel amazing to be able to run over 3 miles at once? I felt like I could run further, too but I want to stick to the program for the last week and a half and not push it too hard yet.
babyboo, I'm still doing the C25K, well actually I finished it last week, but the week before that, I had bronchitis so I didn't get to run at all, which was driving me nuts, I never get sick, and it figures I do when I really couldn't afford to! But anyway, I got back into it and ran a couple 3 milers, and I am going to run my first 5K this evening, its pouring down rain...I'm just hoping not to be in last place and I'll be happy!
I started this week, it has been nice to have a goal/focus. I find it easier to breathe during the running than the walking toward the end, haha.
I have been doing it on the treadmill because it's been raining outside, and I downloaded the C25K ap for the iphone.
@stephiemarie: hope your 5K went well!
@Bailzoe: congrats on starting the program :D
So I went to Minnesota for a week to visit my sister and nephew. I love them to death but their lifestyle isn't the healthiest. Because my eating and sleep pattern was so off I ended up sick and could only run 1 out of the 2 days I had planned on :/ I finished week 8 and now plan on only doing 2 days of week 9, which I think will be fine! My last day is Sunday and then I start my more intense training for my 5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon coming up!
it did go well, thanks! I ran it pretty slow, but not any slower than I have been running, I was just happy to have run the whole thing without walking. I think I am going to keep up with the three mile runs for a couple weeks (hopefully being able to up my speed) before I move on to train for a 10K...babyboo, what programs do you plan to use for your extended training?
I'm not personally using it, but there is a Bridge to 10K program by the same C25K people.
I'm training for a half marathon in september so I'm just doing a 10K in the middle of my training. The program I am using for that is by Hal Higdon. I will be running a 10K slightly sooner than it says and will be using P90X for my strength training days.
I have heard a lot of people use Hal Higdon training programs and really liked them!
thanks babyboo! I checked out the Hal Higdon program and it looks doable! A half marathon would have been the next goal after a 10K anyway. thanks again!

I know when I started the program back in April there were a ton of ladies doing it, however it seems that a lot of people started dropping off. I wanted to know if anyone has stuck with it and how they are doing!
I finished week 7 tonight, which was a 25 minute run. We made it 2.8 miles, which was our best distance yet! I'm down to running an 8.8 min mile, when I started the 25 minute runs (there are 4 of them in the program I am doing) I was running a 9.1 min mile!
If you are wondering if you want to start this program, do it! I couldn't be happier with my results :D
