I am doing this! It’ll be down and curly during pics and the ceremony, then when everyone leaves to head to the reception she’s putting it up in a loose side bun. My hair is like exactly that length.

@MelBan:  Good question!  I would looooove to do this, and I’m curious how other brides have done this. Do you pay your hairdresser for 2 looks, and she stays through the ceremony?

@MelBan:  after having my hair done for a few different weddings, the longest part is the actual curling of the hair.

assuming that you’re wearing it long and curly for the ceremony… you may only need some touch up curls and then the stylist should be able to put it up pretty quickly. no more than 20 minutes, i’d assume… you’ll be able to sneek away just before dinner is served (or during dinner) or even before you make your enterance into the receptioN!

@MelBan:  That’s awesome! I’m going to have to look closely at our guest list and see if there is anyone who could throw my hair into a loose updo! When I had my hair done for our engagement pictures, I asked the stylist if she has ever done two hairstyles on a bride, and looked at me like I had 4 heads! Haha. We decided not to book her for the wedding, so maybe the new one would has a different perspective?

I had my hair up and then half-up for our wedding. I paid my hairstylist/MUA to come back for a touchup and hair change during cocktail hour. She recommends 45 mins but got it done under 30. Those hair pins take a while to take out/put in!

@MelBan:  Well my day has not come yet but I’m queen of 1000 hairstyles in a single night.  I’m always putting it up, down, pony tail, half up.  Even if I’m just bumming around the house.

The wedding shall prove no different.

I really like pretty flower claw clips so I’ll have it down for pics and ceremony, up for cake cutting, down for dinner and up again for reception.

Now – I like semi messy updos so I can get it into some pretty cool syles with just a few clips in about 2 minutes in the bathroom so I won’t be pressed for time.   Can you do something like that?

@MelBan:  I’m going to have a mini can of moroccan oil hairspray with me and my two mini claw clips in my clutch.  It should be easy to steal away for a few minutes and put it up and do it.  I suggest playing around with your hair so you can do it.
