I saw some like that on Style Me Pretty a while back. I’m considering it, but I am worried about the sturdiness of the stand and the weight of the cake.

Good one, I wish I had seen this before I bought some.  I have seen these on etsy.

Those are great! I haven’t tried making any myself, but since I’ve been hunting silver teapots at Value Village and Goodwill for my centrepieces I’ve also been finding a lot of stainless steel cake platters for about $3-$4 each. Once you start looking for them you’ll find them everywhere!

We got 10 at GoodWill. We spent about $25 for the whole lot. They’re everywhere!

Use a clear silicone caulking if you’re going to make your own platters. You can pick it up at Home Depot in the paint section.

Ummm Canada rocks? LOL! I don’t know. My favourite is the one on the far right, it folds up like a clam shell and then opens into that three tier tray. It’s so amazing and it was only $1.99. LOVE! Keep looking and try to make friends with someone at Goodwill and gush about your wedding blah blah blah and they’ll help you out 🙂

Hm. Maybe have someone else in a different area take a look for you?

Oh, I bet you’d be okay with cookies. Maybe try it out before the actual wedding day? We’re doing round cakes, which are way smaller and lighter than real wedding cakes, but still, I worry. Talk about cakewreck…

And the original SMP wedding that I saw. This bride used glass goblets and wine glasses to hold up cupcakes!

Yay! Post pictures when you’re done. I should start this too – our wedding is the week after yours and I have put this project on the back burner!
