I honestly think it looks gimmicky. it seems ten times easier to just wind a lock of hair around a styling wand.

have you tried looking up reviews for it? you’ll probably find tons of them on makeupalley, ulta or amazon.

I have seen commercials/advertsiments for it and I would sooner purchase a curling wand. I would be afraid of my hair being matted up in it.

I am interested to hear of real-life experiences with it though. As someone mentioned earlier, a beauty site may have bountiful reviews.

I’m curious about this too. I have super thick, long hair and I cannot manage to curl it myself ever. -_- I would love to not have to go to the salon for a basic curl.

@lonsk:  I have it and I love it! I’ve never been skilled with a curling iron so the curl secret is my best friend. My hair has gotten stuck a few times but there’s a release button and I’ve never had a hard time getting it out. I have very thick and wavy hair but my best friend has thin and straight hair and it works awesome on her too. It’s the only way that curls stay in her hair, when she uses a curling iron they fall flat within an hour. I’ll try to see if I have any pics 🙂

I burn my ears on curling irons all the freakin’ time. The Ulta reviews are good. It seems one of the biggest negatives is you hair can get ‘stuck’ if you put too much in at once but it has an easy release system on it and won’t burn or rip the hair. 🙂

@lonsk:  The first picture is the only one I could find of my hair and that’s after I slept on it twice and brushed it multiple times (my hair is naturally frizzy, the curl secret actually makes it less frizzy)

second pic is my sister right after she used it. She has thin and straight hair.

    i hope that helps 🙂

@lonsk:  I have one and love it!  If you hair gets stuck its very easy to get out and I’ve never had a problem with it burning or damaging my hair.

My hairdresser has the professional MiraCurl version and she said the representative that sold it to her had the kinkiest curliest natural hair and the lady put her hair in it and it came out a smooth spiral curl.  My hairdresser said if it could handle her hair it could handle anything!

I think the only difference between the professional version and the regular one is that the professional version could rotate curl directions and you could turn off the timer sound alert.  I bought the regular one because it was $99 vs $250 for the professional one.

@HappySky7:  I also have really thick, long hair that’s difficult to curl.

I was curious when I first saw it but I’ve decided not to get it because I have so much hair that my arms will start to get sore by the 10th curl or so – that thing looks so heavy!  Also, I was watching a few YouTube reviews on this (and another similar machine) and apparently hair can get stuck kind of easily.  So no for me!

@lonsk:  I know this is a month old – but I just got one for xmas! It took me a couple tries to learn to use it properly – the first few times I thought that I only had to let it beep once and then release. My long, long hair was NOT curling correctly at all and I was like, Damn it – it doesn’t work on long hair!

However, I read something on pinterest today about it and turns out – you let it beep FIVE times and that’s why it wasn’t curling! Here are two pics. The first one is halfway through, then at the end I brushed them all out and pinned them back in a clip!

@weatherbug:  Wow – that look pretty good!  My long, straight hair may need to pay a visit to that 😉

@canuckandakiwi:  I need to practice a bit more – think I need to do the top layer with less of a tight curl for the front to look really good!
