Honestly...a Seamstress can do wonders to a dress. I plan on loosing at least 30 before my wedding...but i still bought a dress that would fit me right now.
Dont stress to much over it...you need to enjoy the shopping :)
Have fun!
I'm trying to loose weight AFTER buying my dress, and I bought it the size I was then, not what I want to be. I'm a 12, and hoping to go down to a 10, maybe an 8, but I don't want to loose too much weight.
exactly! Im a 14...but id like toget down to at least a ten :)
Nothing toooo ridiculous.... Gosh love has made me fat lol
I am! I'm a size 4, but short enough that I definitely have "problem zones" so I'm toning up and hoping to lose about 10 lbs. I went dress shopping with FSIL, and at one of the places she literally just had to change in front of us every time. In fact, we had to help her because the sales woman left us in there with the dresses for 45 minutes. In case something like that happens to me, I want to be proud of my body!
Plus, I know that when I lose weight a lot of my clothes that were flattering before become kind of blah, and I start wearing different styles that flatter my "new" shape better.
I'm with the others. Make sure you get a dress that fits you well now, but plan on losing after you pick your dress.
My wedding gown is a 12, but I am hoping for the first fitting to take ti down to a 10 or 8.

I bought a dress in September and bought it home in november and guess what. It didnt go all the way up! In two months I had put on weight. But needless to say, I tried it on again yesterday and it fits.. phew! bit snug tho. I am planning to loose a little bit more weight before I get it altered. .
The lady in the store says, some brides just loose weight before the wedding due to stress. =I have heard of people ordering a size lower than what they are to make them selves use that as a goal. Im not keen on this idea at all.
Each to their own tho!
Can i just recommend Dance Julianne- Cardio Ballroom Dancing?!?! you can get it on Amazon.com for like 8 bucks.. its an hour long super fun high energy dance dvd. the instructor (julianne hough from dancing with the starts) is adorable! I never even watched dancing with the stars before but bought it anway because amazon suggested it for me. Its great and it really targets your butt, abs, arms, legs, and everything else in between!!!!
Its freaking amazing... I don't need to lose any weight for the wedding luckily, but I try to do it 2-3 times a weeks just to stay in shape and its AMAZING. I've lost like 4 lbs (which is a lot for me!!) without even trying. Plus the fiance loves watching me do it, haha he thinks its sexy!! ;-) never hurts to make him happy either!
I'm so all about losing weight, but my dress is already sitting in my closet! He knows what my dress looks like, cause he's seen a pic of the size 2 model in it! but i'm totally not a size 2! having two kids, kills that, lol. So i'm working my ass off, and in the past week i lost like 4 lbs, and thats considering i only worked out 2 days since i was sick the other 5, and still am sick. chasing after a 3 year old and a 1 year old with a fever is exercise right?
Already picked my dress out, but I'm waiting to order it till April. In the meantime, I'm going to the gym and working my butt off!
I bought a dress that fits me now.. but i was stressing out for a while and i lost some weight.. i was getting worried at first but than realized that my mom can do wonders with dresses.. so now im planning to go from 135 to 120..
I'm putting off the shopping for a bit because I'm training for a 10k in May. I'm not actively trying to lose x number of pounds (too stressful for me) but I'm kinda guessing/hoping that kicking up my running regimen will cause me to shapeshift a little!
It really doesn't matter. You will most likely need the dress altered anyway so regardless if you lose 5 - 10 lbs now or after you buy the dress, it wont matter.
I had the same plan - but really, all the samples you try on will probably bigger than your size. Once you get the dress on, you won't care about the extra pounds. Start looking :)
I also have problem zones I'd like to lose before I try on dresses. I have 2 more weeks but it is so hard not to snack!
I love to eat! I am getting married next month! March 20th!
My dress fits perfect, it is a size 4.
To keep it together I make sure i carry snacks with me when i go out. baby carrots, a granola bar, and apple, a baggie of grapes, cheese stick and bottled water (with a crystal light packet)
When I get the munchies i just go to my goody bag.
It has worked for me so far...I've actually lost a little bit.
Also doing half hour of aerobic/yoga or strength training 4 times a week.
I gained thirty pounds in the last year, and looking at myself in the mirror grosses me out. I am hoping to lose weight by Sept and then go shopping, and then lose more weight!

I need to lose 8lbs or more before I start looking - keep getting temptations in my way though!
Any tips? xx
