Just a suggestion though, try the diapers out first before the trip. You would hate to have a bad diaper rash due to a specific brand while you are on vacation!
@SecretName: Great idea that I'll be unable to implement because I leave everything to the last minute. Well, we have a nature's baby, but it's a size 2 and baby is now a size 3. It feels like a gas station paper towel. Really rough to the touch!
We have used the 7th generation diapers (got a pack from my sister). Going from Pampers to 7th generation, I didn't particularly like them. They don't have as snug a fit, so we had a couple leaks (I've never had a Pampers diaper leak). I don't think the material was too rough, although, Ceci might feel differently since she's used to plush cloth diapers. :)
My friend used to cloth diaper but now uses 7th generation exclusively so I voted on her behalf.
DH has tried all 3. We recently tried Earth's Best bc they were on sale @BRU and had to use a non-CD safe cream...I voted for Earth's Best.
We also like Flip sposies inserts, too, and I think these might work better for overnight, bc you can double up? Plus, they aren't sized in case you have extra, but then you'd still have to wash the covers in the sink.
PS I'm jealous of your trip. :-D
@Mrs. DG: Have you looked into Tushies? They are the only disposable without the 'gel' inside (and I think they are a division of Earth's Best). They are hard to find in stores, but our local Bed Bath and Beyond has them so maybe yours does too. I think these are going to be our back-up to cloth when we are out and about once our little one arrives, although I haven't had the chance to try them out yet so I can't comment on the feel, etc.
@Mrs. DG: I know this thread is a year old... but I am curious which kind of diaper you tried.
We will be CD'ing too, but plan to use diapers for travel and we have a few trips this summer.
We also plan to use sposies while the baby is a newborn, until meconium passes and I have energy to do laundry again. I have a pack of Earths best NB and 7th Gen. size 1..
Which did you like?
From appearance only, it looks like Earth's Best are bleached to white and 7th gen isn't. The dioxin in sposies is caused by the bleaching process so I do wonder how "organic" EB really is?!?
I don't know about biodegradable, but I do know I use Honest diapers because they are healthier. I cloth at home, but daycare is disposables, so I wanted to get the best ones.

I need a recommendation for your favorite biodegradable diaper. We're going to Hawaii next week and it will be impossible to use cloth... so what's your favorite biodegradable sposie?
We're looking at 7th Generation, Earth's Best and Nature Baby.
