- Wedding: September 2013
We got married back in September, but our honeymoon wasn’t until November, so I planned to change my name legally when we returned so I didn’t have to deal with the passport stuff beforehand.
But apparently this is more complicated than I thought.
I know it differs by state, but I’ve talked to, like 10 recently-married women at work and friends on Facebook, and everyone says something totally different for the whole name-changing process.
The only thing that seems inevitable is a visit to the courthouse and a visit to the DMV. Well, I don’t have any PTO left at work until January, so I won’t be able to change it til then anyway (and I even when January rolls around I really don’t want to have to waste PTO on something like that).
Someone I know suggested the website Miss to Mrs. You pay them $29.95 and they take care of everything – drivers license, passport, social security card, etc.
Has anyone used them?
Can you give me any feedback?
