I really like the idea of having little bells at each table and having people ring them instead of clinking their wine glasses to get the bride and groom to kiss. I was thinking we use them as name-cards, and pick one of these poems to write on the back:

    Wedding Bell Poems

RING FOR A KISSToday, as we gather together, wish us a love to last forever. If you would like us to share a wedded kiss, ring the bell for lifelong bliss.

BELL SALUTEThis bell salutes the Bride and Groom and the Joy that fills the room. Ring it loud, when they are near, so that all may hearthe pledge of love they hold so dear.

JINGLEI'm a little jingle bellI'm here to wish the couple well!Shake me, ring me loud and clearWhen you see bride & groom appear. My tinkling sound is here to conveyyour love and good wishes on their special day!Bring me along to the reception tooSo they may share a kiss for you!

WEDDING BELLTOASTMay laughter and joy fill this roomas we toast the bride and groom. Please take this little Wedding Bell...Ring it loud and ring it well. With each sound they will show their blissby sharing in a Wedding Kiss!!

Anyone else doing anything with bells?

Wow, those came out messed up. Ok I'm trying again:

"May laughter and joy fill this room/as we toast the bride and groom/Please take this little wedding bell/Ring it loud and ring it well/With each sound they will show their bliss/By sharing in a wedding kiss!"

"This bell salutes the bride and groom/and the joy that fills this very room/Ring it loud when they are near/So that all may hear/The pledge of love they hold so dear."

"Today, as we gather together/Wish us a love to last forever/If you would like for us to share a wedding kiss/Ring the bell for lifelong bliss"

    ...or something along these lines.

That's a cute idea. You could also have people ring bells as you walk up the aisle as a married couple -- or do a "kiss menu" of things the guests would need to do to get the newlyweds to smooch!

I bought a bride's leftover box on Ebay! Like two hundred for $24 with free shipping! She just wanted to get rid of them, I was so excited! I'm having them placed on everyone's main plate so they can ring them throughout the reception so we can kiss! They come with tags that explain the tradition.

I had a cousin who had these bells at her wedding. I thought it was a cute idea and she mentioned how inexpensive they were in her wedding planning but i do remember them being exceptionally annoying when the kids got their hands on them. It was CONSTANT bell ringing and the whole "ring the bell for a kiss" kinda lost its cuteness after the non stop ringing.

we're using the forever stamp to send out invites, which has a bell on it. i like the idea of 'ring a bell for a kiss' so it's on the list of great ideas to consider.

I'm using bells. I bought a couple boxes of them at Wal-Mart. They come with the "ring for our happiness" cards, but I'm tying a mix of brown, orange, and burgandy ribbons on them.

I hate to be the pessimist but, I feel like, especially if you have kids at your wedding, this can turn annoying VERY quickly.

We are using bells for when we exit the church...our cathedral does not allow rice, confetti, bubbles, etc so we are going for sound! I am hoping some people hold onto their bells to take into the reception for kissing as well, but I am not sure if they will!

Orential trading has them pretty cheap but they do not stand like they show in the pic so take fair warning if you want them to stand. I am going to do the bells for the tables but i am going to get them from ebay just as cheap but theirs have the tent stand as they call it.
