Yes, we are and I am so ridiculously excited about it! My fiance and I are both big fans of Dashboard Confessional, and really bonded over our mutual love of them when we first started dating. We're going to have the bridal party walk down to Vitamin String Quartet's version of "Stolen" (http://www.amazon.com/Stolen-Tribute-to-Dashboard-Confessional/dp/B001DQI6VU) and I'll be walking down to their version of "Hands Down"(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TPTSWC/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk1) ... both sound absolutely amazing and are completely perfect for us!
I just made up my entire program of songs only by Vitamin String Quartet:
Falling Slowly, Best Deceptions, Hallelujah, Chasing Cars, Wonderful Tonight, Lifesong, Clocks, Stairway to Heaven, Yellow
And our actual processional song for the bridal party is Dare You To Move
I plan on using their version of, "Just Like Heaven". I'm not sure what part I'll use it for but it's definately going to be inserted somewhere!
I have several songs I'm looking at a a processional song, one of them is Vitamin String Quartet's "All I Want Is You" originally by U2.
So, I had to share this with people that would understand...
I have a friend of a friend that works in entertainment and production management...and she is going to have the ACTUAL vitamin string quartet at her wedding!
We're using Falling Slowly for the groom's processional and All I Want Is You for mine. Mom's and bridesmaids are getting traditional wedding music (Vivaldi and Pachelbel). Yay!
@Krissycake: that is so cool! I keep trying to figure out if we can get a real string quartet in... we can't. ;)
The processional is to All You Need is Love and I am walking into Somebody to Love. Our whole wedding song list is a little off kilter but we wouldn't have it any other way
We're using them too! The bridesmaids and groomsmen will be walking down to God Only Knows by the Beach Boys and I'll be walking down to All You Need is Love by The Beatles. We haven't decided on the recessional yet, but I'm thinking Bittersweet Symphony. I was so excited when I found Vitamin String Quartet...what a great idea!
Im doing stairway to heaven, but will have VSQs version of Coldplay playing while people are being seated. I had a friend that did metallica
@krissycake that is so cool about your friends wedding.
I haven't totally decided yet on the ceremony music, but I do like the Vitamin String Quartets versions of Guns N Roses "Sweet Child o Mine" and Journeys "Don't Stop Believing". Not sure how those would work in the ceremony.
Not for the processional since secular music is a no-no for the church, but we are planning on playing the VSQ Snow Patrol music during cocktail hour and dinner.
OK I'd seen a bajillion posts about this Vitamin String Quartet and never had a clue what the heck it was. Don't know why this thread prompted me to finally look it up. But I wish I hadn't! Holy crap - it's the coolest thing ever - and the one thing I THOUGHT I had my mind made up on was music. And then this comes along..........agggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha
My bridal party walked down the aisle to Vitamin's version of Tori Amos' Pretty Good Year.

I am all about VSQ!!! We are using them for all of our pre-ceremony music - "All I want is You" by U2, "Daughters", John Mayer, "I'm Yours" Jason Mraz, etc..
I am walking down the aisle to "Sweet Child of Mine." Just the beginning part. I have only one attendant and a very short aisle!
I'm walking down the isle to their cover of U2's "Beautiful Day" :D
Ahh, I thought I was being so original! I guess perhaps it's just that all of us in the hive have such fabulous taste :) I am almost 100% on walking down the aisle to VSQ "Falling Slowly". I'm having my girls walk down to the theme from Forrest Gump though.
Does anyone know where you can buy the actual sheet music for VSQ??? I am desperate to find the sheet music to "Stolen".
I will be walking down the aisle to their version of U2's "the sweetest thing" and after they pronounce us, their version of "all you need is love" will play
i am back and forth allt he time...but i think that i am going to walk down the aisle to vsq version of dont stop believing by journey. i love the way that it sounds. wedding is only a month away..guess i better figure that out!! i think we are going to walk out to i gotta feeling by the black eyed peas!!
I'm still undecided about songs to be used where, other than I am 100% for sure walking down to aisle to Wonderful Tonight with my Dad. He got me into Clapton when I was a kid, and the VSQ version is beautiful. Few people will get the reference, which I adore. It's like our own special moment together.
We may do our first dance to Lucky (Jason Mraz and Colbie Calliat) but if not, the VSQ version will be the processional music. :)
I'm using their version of "Imagine", it's SO beautiful. Not to mention that both FI and I, plus our parents are big Beatles fans.
We aren't doing it for the processional, but more for the prelude. We are using all Beatles songs.
We're using Just Like Heaven (the Cure) for the processional and Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Queen) for the bridal processional. My mom was a HUGE Queen fan, and the song is in her memory. I was super-excited when someone on WB posted about using VSQ - I had heard of them before, but it totally never dawned on me to use their music.
It seems like it's pretty common for people to have the DJ play music for the processional? I've been so torn over this- I feel like I really want to have live musicians, even if it's a soloist or duet...but it can get so costly. I just want to make sure that the sound is good quality. Do you think it really matters if the music is live or not? I think VSQ could possibly do a better job over speakers than a live musician could!?
we are using their version of wonderful tonight for processional, can't help falling in love for my walk and don't stop believing for the recessional. we are having live strings play their versions. i think the perference is always for live music because that way they can stop it when needed and make it sound right. like if you make it down the aisle and the CD music is only halfway through the song, it would sound weird to just turn it off and i'm guessing you wouldn't want to just stand in front of everyone waiting for the music to end.
I was researching VSQ a month ago and for some reason I fell in love with Delilah, it's beautiful, I'm definitely using it, not sure for which part of the wedding though
I like their version of Helena by My Chemical Romance. The instrumental is beautiful and I'd like to use it somewhere but no idea where as of yet.
OOOOOH we are! I'm so excited to see other brides using them! How awesome is it to get to incorporate modern songs you love but still have the classy wedding feel!
My wedding party is walking down to "Chasing Cars" originally by Snow Patrol and I'm walking down the aisle to "Can't help falling In love" originally by Elvis! I'm sooo excited!
I've loved VSQ for years! I can't believe all the amazing music they have done. However, getting married in a Catholic church, I probably won't be able to use any of their music. But I think for dinner, definitely!
Yes! I used their cover of U2's The Sweetest Thing for my entrance/walk down the aisle and I loved it (I really love the opening few notes). Hm, I think I'm going to go listen to it right now :)
I'm torn between Don't Stop Believing (Journey), Yellow (Coldplay), and I'm Yours (Jason Mraz). The ceremony is on the beach, so I'm leaning towards I'm Yours, but we'll see.
@snowlane: We used the VSQ version of Yellow by Coldplay for our processional and it was perfect! Anything you choose will be beautiful. Enjoy :)
Absolutely!!! I am walking down to "I Will Be There" and when we leave Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust." My FI is absolutely beyond himself at the idea of songs he likes in the style that I was looking for to be in our wedding. It's an awesome compromise and people are always caught off guard once they realize what the song actually is.
wow ive never heard of this! just youtubed them, they are freaking amazing! i am in love!
Did anyone have an actual quartet play or did you do CD? If CD, how did you handle it as in...it didn't just stop when you needed it to? I want to use them so bad, but I am worried about using a CD

We're thinking about using one of the Vitamin String Quartet's versions of a modern song for our processional music. But I'm not which song to use -- we want to pick one we like, but that also has a good pace for walking down the aisle -- many seem too fast. Any suggestions of ones that worked well at your wedding, or that you're planning to use?
