August 2014 bride here. I’m looking for someone to go in on a chuppah with me! A florist going out of business (Hana & Posy) in Old City has their chuppah listed on CL for $600. I offered $300 and they said it’s a deal!
(Second to last photo)
8 pieces of 8-foot-tall birch with cement holders at the bottom. We could potentially resell it after all our nupitals. This seems like a great deal considering my florist quoted me $300 for a rental.
Let me know if you’re interested!

i bought an 8×8 tent for $25 at Ollies.
I’m draping my great grandmother’s 10 ft veil over it and then layiny my father’s talit on top of that. i wanted something simple.

Even if you can’t find anyone to go in with you on it, you might consider just buying it and reselling it after the wedding. We made our chuppah by covering a portable popup gazebo frame with fabric I sewed myself, and adding in some rose lights and some satin sashes. The cost ended up being a little under $200, but I was able to resell the chuppah for $200 after the wedding. And I later learned that the same chuppah had been in at least 5 other weddings.

@2dBride: That’s what I’m going to do! I already have an independent florist interested in buying it after our wedding. Thanks.
