Agreed, although its so hard to know cause you never actually taste the food. I like the stars thing a lot though.
I am loving TCM! I'm really hoping they are going to have Tony Bourdain on. I mean, I know it's supposed to be about the food, but if every chef that advances to the semi-finals has the personality of Suzanne Tracht, it'll be a boring night indeed.
Yes, totally love it. I feel like you can just tell that they are better Chefs and that they can do anything with food!
Haha...I hear ya, HC! She was SO DULL last week.
I am a crazy Top Chef fan, so to have this while they're on hiatus is great :) Not the same, of course.
& yes, they are WAY TOO NICE to the chefs!
I love regular Top Chef and have been enjoying the Top Chef Masters show this summer. I like how the chefs (with the exception of the French dude this week) are all pretty good natured about the competition. I do think the judges seem way nicer, but I was wondering if that was more reflective of the quality of the food?
My favorite part is that they do a Quickfire challenge that they did on another season. It's kind of a fun way to rememebr the other seasons.
The second episode the chefs even said how they were harsher as judges than the current ones are! I think it's an interesting idea though to have the master chefs go through the experience themselves.
I am loving this season! I think it is fun to see renowned chefs being taken out of their comfort zone and being forced to put their basic skills to the test. I really like how the finalists are shaping up, too. Hubert Keller and Rick Bayless are fantastic. I was turned off by Suzanne Tracht's bland personality at first, but man, can she cook a meal! I thought she deserved to move onto the finals!
I love TCM, but only because I love the regular Top Chef, and anything to get my TC fix is appreciated! I wanted to kick that French dude tho... c'mon, a quesadilla??
I really like it so far! It's definitely cool to see the Quickfires repeated; I always seem to think those are harder than the actual challenges most times.
I'm completely addicted to all things Top Chef. I've only seen one episode of Masters (the rest are Tivo'd and waiting for me) but it looks great! It's such a fun and creative show! I loved that even the Masters struggled - makes me really appreciate what the contestants go through. I wish I could cook like that!
Haha I am loving masters! They are totally nicer to the masters though, maybe they eventually want them all to come back and be judges, lol.
Save for the first episode, I seem to be rooting for the ones that don't win...
I won't spoil since it seems like not everyone has seen them yet, but can we all agree that Ludo was totally hilarious in last week's episode? :D
Oh Agreed! They are SO much nicer to the Masters! I was just thinking that they other day!
I do love that the Masters keep saying, wow I was really mean when I was a judge and this is HARD!
I watch it but I find myself always doing something else while it is on...reading, going online, cooking. I like the normal Top Chef alot better, it gives me a chance to connect to the people since they arent just on for one episode.
I love cooking shows and Hells Kitchen comes back next week, I am SOOO excited! :)

Doesn't it seem like the judges are WAY nicer to these celeb chefs than they would be on regular contestants? They have something nice to say about everyone's dish. It seems a little unfair to me.
How are you liking this season so far?
