I am! I usually don't watch it, but I'm super excited about it this year!
I am totally into the red carpet! I just saw Marisa Tomei tripping over her dress.. sad for her, it's gorge but clearly not meant for walking in! :)
Jennifer Hudson is presenting and she looks unbelievable. I seriously can't get over how fantastic she looks.
I loooove Mila Kunis' dress, simply stunning!
I also think Scarlett Johansson's dress would be a gorgeous wedding dress in white! That's the style I want for my own wedding dress.
I don't have a TV, but I am compulsively updating the slideshows. They are sloooow with the updates. I don't care about the awards; I love the dresses.
So far, I am very underwhelmed. Lots of slinky, lots of lacey and peekaboo, and lots of random tulle, lots of nude or metallic.
Loving Hailee Steinfeld -- she looks age-appropriate but not twee. It's a little princess-y but also sort of Audrey-elegant. And hey, she's 14 and at the equivalent of the most amazing prom of all time; I would probably go princess-y, too. I would kind of like her entire look for a wedding outfit, actually!
I'm watching! My husband and I print off ballots, make our picks, watch the show and see who wins for most correct predictions. We've been doing it for years. One year we even dressed up! This year we're also comparing Ebert's picks with ours to see how we compare to him. I finally won last year, let's hope I can do it again!
I think Cate Blanchett's dress (and her body) looks amazing! Best yet!
I have the house to myself and have settled on the couch with a bowl of strawberries ...
Amy Adam's dress underwhelmed me. She's so gorgeous and I feel like she never goes for bold choices.
I am however, glad to see some color on the red carpet this year instead of the usual black and burgundy.
I looked at the dress pics online and wasn't impressed by anyone so far. Only liked Jennifer Hudson's. Mila Kunis' dress was sorta pretty, love that color, but too much boob hanging out.
I'm going to watch the opening, also for James Franco :)
@Boopers: I love her, she's my girl crush. I can't believe how far she's come from That 70's Show!
I am!!! Totally on the look out for hair inspiration!!!! Loving Anne Hathaway's red carpet hair :)
@KatyElle: I felt like Amy Adam's dress was pretty, but that necklace was barf! It looked so weird.
yup!! here with FI! I only watch it when I have seen a lot of the movies...so this year I have seen quite a few!
@Amaryllis: Hailee always looks so cute and age appropriate, I'm loving her dress.
Cate Blanchett looks amazing as usual.
Oh jeez Natalie Portman looks like she's going to puke or pass out (understandable in her condition!) But she still looks amazing.
Someone get that girl a cookie and juice box!
@ninjadarling: yeah she does! yet again another purple dress! thats the Oscar color this year!
i'm not knocking Natalie, by any means but i really noticed the front tooth whitening with her. I see it with most stars. Gleaming white front teeth that make the rest of their teeth look almost brownish.
@LGenz: I agree. Hailee looks fabulous, and is dressed perfectly for her age :)
@KatyElle: Agree! She looks so amazing after her weight loss... seriously, perfect body now. Loving the red....
I can't wait to see if James Franco and Anne Hathaway hit it out of the park or crash and burn! This could be epic!
@dolphindoll: I think she at least will be great, because she did a musical number a couple years ago when Hugh Jackman hosted (the year she was nominated for Rachel Getting Married) and she was really good.
James Franco is kind of out there and unpredictable, so I'm interested to see if he's going to play is safe or "go there" lol!
I wasnt watching before but I'll probably start watching in a few minutes
@agerard23:yeah i think that it was all courtesy laughter. good thing they are all actors in that room!
ugh. rough start. and this art director winner? not a good way to open. thank gosh i can be online at the same time
My husband still isn't home for me to gloat for winning! I am two for two right now, and beating both my husband AND Roger Ebert!!
I liked the True Grit bit and that was about it. Seriously, that's ALL they could come up with to parody Black Swan????
Anyone know what that "Britney Spears announcement" they are running commericals for is about?
