I’m gonna go in January to try on dresses for the first time. I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and I really dont think I’m going to end up wearing an actual bridal dress. We’re having a very casual wedding, Fiance isnt even going to be wearing a suit, and I kinda want to wear a colored dress. Either blue or lilac. So I’ve been looking at bridesmaid and prom dresses.
Did anyone else wear something that obviously wasnt a wedding dress? Any pictures? These are some that I’m loving at the moment.
I’m also still in love with the corset I posted about a week ago, but I want to try on dresses before I make any decisions.

I’m not wearing a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, but I love the pics you posted! Very pretty!

I will be wearing a bridal dress. But I think the last one you posted is gorgeous and still wedding-y without being too bridal

@MrsDe2013: Thats both of my bridesmaids favorite. I just think its too fancy for what we’re having. Theres only going to be 40 guests, max, and its on a farm. XD

Im wearing a wedding dress, though I did look at bridesmaids dress. especially if its informal I think its absolutly fine! My friend wore a black knee lengh Vivian Westwood at her wedding and another friend wore a knee lenght 50’s penil dress, neither were anything to do with “wedding” I think you go for it!

Nope. But have you looked at like “prom” dresses?
There are a lot of nice ones out there.
Maggie Sottero has a line… They’re a little more than a bridesmaid dress, but not a wedding dress.
(Not sure what colors they all come in, but all the pictures below are from that site)
But I think you should try on some bridal dresses, just to see how you feel before you decide 100% that you want a bridesmaid/any other type of dress. You can also get some in colors also, if you want colors.
And I’ve seen like beach/casual weddings where the guy is wearing khakis and a polyester button down or something, and the woman is still wearing a bridal dress. It doesn’t look weird or anything, if that’s a concern. You could always change later for the reception also, if you want.
You could wear these to any formal event… but you only get to wear a wedding dress once 😉 (theoretically… lol) But if you decide this is the way for you, I suggest you check out “prom” “evening” “formal” and “homecoming” as well.

I think the blue one is nice. I love it. i plan to order two dresses for my wedding, still on searching now. I think it’s a good idea to bring something not very ‘wedding’ for a wedding. Haha. It’s really special. And I personally love the blue dress. It’s really beautiful. 🙂

@yanamari: The last one I posted is a prom dress. I’m looking at them, but I havent found very many I would consider. Most are way too blingy and fancy for me. I’m definitely going to try on some wedding dresses, who knows, I might fall in love with one.
