@mrsShell:  I’m replying so I can follow this… I have a feather/flower thing I’d like to wear with my veil, but I’m not sure how to work that out.

I’m not sure who that would look. Have you thought about putting on the flower for the reception after you take off the veil, I’ve seen people put on flowers, headbands, or small birdcage viels after the ceremony.

I’m wearing a long catherdal length veil for the ceremony, but I’m replacing it with an organza flower pin for the reception. Are you up for something like that? Then neither item competes for attention in your hair.

i am guessing that your veil is a longer, more traditional veil vs the birdcage.  not often do you see the flower headpiece with a regular veil but i think it can look really nice.

I have been contemplating a floral wreath either under or over my fingertip length circle veil. I’d then take the veil off for the reception, leaving the wreath. Flowers are a main component of my outdoor, Spring wedding, so I think it would work.

@thenextmrsi:  I’ve been contemplating that too! I love the look of flower crowns but I also want a blusher and I just don’t think the two can work together :( I’d love to see a flower crown and regular veil together though, I think it would look very pretty.

@sugarpea:  I am also looking at a blusher… Here are a few photos that I’ve found of floral crowns/wreaths… The first one has the blusher veil!! It looks so ethereal and romantic!!

Bump!! This thread died for a few days, and now I’m thinking that my idea of a flower crown with blusher was crazy… thoughts?

I ended up wearing both as I used some old cz stones taken from my grandmother’s headpeice when she got married and placed them in the centre of my hair flower.  I planned on wearing it after…but wanted the stones with me during the ceremony.
