I have one! Originally I wanted a super blinged out engagement ring and wedding band. then FI and I went to try engagement rings on prior to us getting engaged and I fell in love with round solitaire’s, so that is what FI got me. then I said oh I’ll dress it up with a blingy wedding band. Well, I bought a plain 2mm white gold band to wear to clinicals, and ended up LOVING it with my engagement ring. My set is so far from what I thought I wanted, but I love it!

I will! From day one FI and I have had one requirement. Matching plain bands. That’s exactly what we will get. He wNts a thick 7mm white gold band and I’ll get a 3mm with miligrain. I absolutely love the look of plain bands because it just says “married” to me.

BelleEtoile:  Robyn0214:  I went with a simple rose gold band as well. I did look as the more sparkly eternity style ring but went with the plain gold band as it will last, I won’t need to worry about loose stones. I’m glad I did as it is really solid. I don’t think it will even bend with wear like all my other rings.

Strawberryshmoo:  Ours don’t match as FI wanted a white metal, he doesn’t really like gold but they do compliment each other as he decided he wanted a rose gold band in the middle of his palladium ring.

We got plain rose gold bands to wear alone! I wanted a love ring too but didn’t like it in person sadly 🙁 So I just ordered our 3 mm bands from a local jeweler.

I have multiple different wedding bands and a couple engagement rings that I switch out here and there but ultimately the ring I wear day to day and most often is a 1.5mm plain 14k yellow gold band. It just can’t be beat as far as comfort.

BelleEtoile:  I have a white gold milgrain band. I think it’s pretty plain ol’ traditional. It’s actually the same kind my Mom had for her wedding band when she was married to my Dad.

My wedding band is a plain yellow gold hammered band, and most of the time I wear it alone. I love it because it’s classic but very uncommon for younger women to wear only a plain band (where we live, at least). My husband has the same one in a wider version; it was important to us to have matching bands and yellow gold.

I Love plain gold bands! FI and I orginally agreed to skip the engagement ring and just go for matching yellow gold bands. After announcing our engagement, friends and family kept asking about my engagement ring. I suppose it eventually kind of got to me and made me feel like we weren’t really engaged until I had a diamond. Silly, I know. We picked an engagement ring out and now I can’t picture my hand without it. But part of me still wishes we would have just gone for yellow gold bands. So elegant looking.

I think there is nothing more sentimental than a plain gold band. I love the look of it, kit screams “married” lol
