Im undecided about the dress Im getting but definitely considering the beaded one!!! They look so elegant!!

Like this one.

Post a pic about which ones you like so far. Are you referring to the whole dress beaded or just the top?

Mine is the gloria by maggie.  I think that they complement brides very well.  I tried on more simple dresses and it made me look simple.

I’m wearing a heavily beaded/embroidered gown.  I figured, when else will I be able to get this glammed up?  Might as well go all out!

I’m wearing Reema by Maggie Sottero…the two things I wanted in a dress:  beading and some type of sleeve!  I say if you want a beaded gown, go for it!

My gown Casablanca 1906 had a beaded top and lots of beading on the skirt and train. I loved it.

I liked the look of beading and embellishments until I tried one on. In the 10 minutes I had one gown on, the very sensitive skin on the inside of my arms was bright red and all scratched up, so I decided that unfortunately they just weren’t for me. I definitely recommend trying one on in person if you have sensitive skin. I never in a million years would have thought about a dress irritating my skin until it actually happened. I still love the look, though 🙂

Depends on your style and the venue. Will the dress overwhelm you (maybe like you have a tiny tiny frame or something) or will it accentuate you? Is your venue a huge ballroom at night or a daytime garden wedding (beads will look more out of place in the latter)?

Of course everyone will still look at you, you’re the bride, the dress is just part of your look. I love Eve of Milady gowns, I think they’re beautiful and compliment a woman’s body very well (they’re a little overpriced though Smile).  The only way a dress would distract me from the bride is if she’s wearing a hot pink dress or something.

My dress has embroidery all over. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve looked at and tried on so many dresses and very few wowed me, it had to be a dress that stood out from all the others . In daily life I’m usually a simple, no-frills girl, but your wedding day is special, you are supposed to be the center of attention and be dazzling! I’m with @gweenyb – simple dresses made me feel too ordinary. Maybe it’s also because I’m older (almost 35) and comfortable with wearing womanly, glamorous clothes at fancy occasions. I think maybe younger girls are self-conscious about this because it’s so different than their everyday modern style. But it’s supposed to be! Think of yourself like an actress on Oscar night…It’s your night, all eyes are on you, it’s your once in a lifetime opportunity to go all out and look the best you can. Remember, it’s only too much if YOU think it’s too much and are uncomfortable in the dress, because it will show on your face and you won’t be able to carry it as well.

I love sparkle, so I don’t think it takes away at all! I think your dress should show you off and make you feel gorgeous! It’s all about what you want.

Mine sparkles alot and I love it!! I already had it on and liked it, but when the lady turned off the lights and it spakled everywhere I was sold. I cried buckets…

Mine is heavily beaded. I really don’t think they are over the top, if that is the look that you want. I love my gown, and I would not trade it for anything less. You need to get what makes you happy, not what makes your mom happy. Sorry to your mom. Your mom will be happy no matter what you get once she sees you walking down the aisle.
