Anyone wearing flats?

My FI is the same height as I am and thus I will be wearing flats on my wedding day.  This would have upset me years ago but I've become accustomed to it now.  I really want to find some really comfortable colorful flats. Like ones with an arch and cushion!

Anyone else out there wearing flats?  Show us a pic and tell us what you love about them... I'd love to get lots of new ideas!

I'm probably going to be wearing heels during the ceremony but will probably switch to ballet flats for most (if not all) of the reception. I haven't picked them out yet, though.

Are you going to do color or white? I've found a lot of fuchsia flats on the road to finding my perfect pair of fuchsia heels!

I'm thinking color.  I'm doing black and white with a green pop for my wedding so I'm thinking green shoes would be awesome!

I'm definitely wearing heels.  FI is over a foot taller than me, so no problems there.  I feel more girly/sexy in heels and think they give me the illusion of being taller/thinner.  Like Liz.Smith, I'm searching for the perfect pair of fuschia heels!

I'm looking for a pair of flats or kitten heels in a teal color - My FI is on the short side as well. On both zappos.com and bluefly.com, you can search for shoes by color. I've had a hard time finding shoes that seem "evening" enough, but I'm hoping more will come out in the spring. Here are some green ones I found:

I'm wearing flats for the whole shebang. My FI actually strongly dislikes heels. He's 9" taller than me or so, but oh well, that's part of the relationship :) I also don't have to worry about heels on the grass, since we're having an outdoor ceremony and reception.

I thought about wearing flats. FI is already taller than me (I'm 5'3, he's 5'11) The idea for flats just make me feel more comfortable. LOL. I don't have to worry about falling down as much. LOL!

See, burnt orange, brown and (accented) mossy camo are our colors. Maybe a brown flat? What do you think? I might just do white, so it can match my gown. I don't know. I got 7 months to figure it out.

I am wearing flats due to me being taller then my FI and with heels I tower over him. At least it will be comfy! And I am trying to find a pair of unique ones!

I joked to DH before we were married that if I had to wear flats on our wedding day, they better be diamond encrusted!

I ended up wearing a sky blue and gold brocade covered flat and I loved it!

I try to wear flats around DH now, but wear heels for work.

I am in the same situation.

I ordered the flats from Dessy a month or so ago.  (Here's my previous post: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/looking-for-flat-shoes-in-clover-or-white

They came in last week and so far I like them.  I've only tried them on once or twice.  I don't know if they will have all of the support you're looking for in the arch, but there is a nice cushion in the heel.

    Good Luck!

I wore flats, mostly for comfort. Mine were silver, with a pointed toe and pleats on the toe that matched part of my dress.  I can't find a pictures, but they were mia. They were fairly comfortable but not really a lot of arch support. the biggest challenge for me was finding something that felt special and elegant enough, yet didn't cost a fortune. I found mine on zappos.

I'm wearing flats! I wasn't really opposed to heels, I just couldn't find a pair I liked. But these are super sweet and totally me.

I am going to wear flats because my dress is not long enough for heels (I am tall and it's off the rack). I haven't chosen any yet. I like the look of bright yellow shoes but it doesn't seem to go well with the ivory color of my gown.

I am wearing flat too... but couldn't find anyting I like... has anyone seen white or Ivory or even dark purple satin flats with bow designs in the front? ( I am not loving rounded toes, so it makes the search even harder...)  All I found were super high heels... nothing close to flat.

Pls help if you have seen close design as the pics below but in lower than 1/2" heels!

    Thanks!!!

    Hi rnc620

Thanks for the help!! I really like the Report Footwear's Geneva sandal but it still has 1" heals... I am really is looking for super flat shoes, like below 1/2". My hubby is slightly shorter than me, and of course we don't really care a bout this but my MIL really really cares...she expecially ask me to wear super flat shoes... same as my mom...ai... I would love to wear a pretty satin open toe sandal but I just have to "listen" to both parents, the "day" is not just for 2 of us, it means a lot to them too.

     Thanks again,

    zoe

I am barely taller than my husband but he is still in denial, he thinks he is taller than me, lol. I wore flats for the wedding because I did not want to be taller than him. I had bought a pair of heels to go with my reception dress that I was changing into but ended up wearing the flats the whole night because they were comfy. There weren't totally flat and still had a small heel to them but they worked for us.

I am wearing flats for the same reason, plus I had ACL reconstruction and heels do not seem appealing for the entire day. I don't have a pic, but I bought a cute beaded white filp flop at at end of the summer on clearance for like 7 bucks! I am completly fine with this, I am going to be comfortable plus people really won't see them for my dress anyways.

My dilema is that one of my BM's is now getting engaged and has picked out a shoe that has a 4 1/2 inch stelleto.Plus they cost 90 bucks plus shipping and handling. This price is high, plus I am concerned about my knee killing me...

I was SO HAPPY to have worn flats!  Don't do well with uncomfortable feet, and it was great to make it through 10 hours of standing through the ceremony, walking the neighborhood for photos, and then dancing, all without once having to think about my feet.

After wearing heels last night, I'm seriously reconsidering flats.  The shoes I currently have for the wedding are 4" high! yikes!

The only problem is that I will look so awkwardly short next to everyone else, Mr.D and his groomsmen are all over 6 feet tall and all my BM/MOHs are over 5'7 and I'm the lowly 5'2 person whose head is out of the shot.  My BMs/MOHs suggested a high heel for me and flats/low heel for them to split the difference, but I'm really starting to lean towards flats. Everyone's shoes are so cute!

I'm definitely wearing flats because my dress will be too short without them (mom/grandmom's dress).  My FMIL seems to think flats aren't "bride-y" enough but I don't care.  I'm all about comfort and less alterations!  And I love all of the colored shoes everyone has posted.  Sooo cute!

Similar to kosstobe, I need to wear flats for my dress since it fits perfectly length wise right now.  Heels will make it way too short.  I'm looking for a light pink or ivory pair of ballet flats and will most likely embellish them like Mrs. Shortcake.  It's rather difficult to find good looking flats, especially ones that will look nice for a wedding.

My fiance is one feet taller than me, but I am still going to wear flats.

Reason being? I am quite clumsy and don't want to trip and fall on my wedding day. I am wearing a ballgown and it's quite heavy. I think wearing flats would make the day more comfortable for me.

I'm wearing the Sueded Alice made by Crocs in ruby red. Here's a pic of the exact same pair:

@Hbowar - I love your shoes.  I have been searching for a pair every since I saw yours on another post.  I only saw them in blue though!  Where are they in green??

@lcbradley21 - That sucks that your friend didn't consider your injury.  Have you talked to her about it yet? My sister picked out tall heels for us BM's for her wedding but then she gave each of us a matching pair of flip flops to wear at the reception (if we chose to).  She has a friend who also has had a lot of knee problems and wouldn't have made it without the flip flops.  Plus it made it a lot easier for us to dance.. etc..

@Dorsay - have you considered going with wedges instead.  They are usually much more comfortable then traditional heels and then you can still have your height.  Or you could opt for 2 pairs of shoes.. heels for the ceremony and all of your pics and then flats for the reception.

@samlevi13 - I LOVE your shoes!!  What are they??
