Im curious, one of my bm’s is pushing me to try out Kleinfelds, is it a bad idea for plus sizes to go there?? I ask because pretty much EVERYWHERE ive gone to, or called (even if they cater to plus sizes) has about 5 dresses in their whole shop that I can fit into. (I’m a 26, for now). I told my Bridesmaid or Best Man she could make the appointment for February, so that I can maybe get down to a 22/24, BEFORE the appointment. The other concern is that I’m really not willing to spend more than $1500. I am not really interested in trying David’s Bridal again….I honestly hated my experience there, I MIGHT try Alfred Angelo….though, I picked out 10 styles online today and called them to see if I could come in to try them on (it’s 1 1/2 hrs away) half the styles I liked were sample size 10’s, a couple were discontinued, and the others were not close enough to my size for it to be worth driving all the way there…..UGHHH, why is this so hard?!? I don’t get why someone my size isn’t allowed to have a happy and memorable experience? I just want to go SOMEWHERE with my size, and I don’t want to SETTLE on a dress just because that was the sample they had for me to try….sorry for the rant…I needed to get this off my chest.

I went to Kleinfelds last summer, and two of the Maggie Sottero dresses I wanted to try on only had plus-sized samples (one was a 22 and the other was a 28). They were both under $1500. I wasn’t looking for a plus size dress, but they definitely do have them there!

I remember watching Say Yes to the Dress last year and they had a whole full-figured special. From what I understand there are a bunch of dresses that come in a range of sample sizes. I even remember one of the brides having to be clipped into the dress (because it was so big). They have so many dresses I can’t imagine there being a problem size-wise. The pricepoint, however, might limit you a lot. If I were you I’d let them know when booking the appointment about your needs & ask if they can help you. I’m confident they’ll say they can. 🙂

I was a size 26 and tried on six or seven dresses at Kleinfeld. They have a pretty large plus size selection. I also suggest the White Gown in Brooklyn. Both places had lots of plus size samples for me to try on.

I read somehwere that RK Bridal in NYC also has a lot of plus size samples.

@MUAbride2be: Yes Kleinfeld is a good option for plus size dresses! And even if it’s not a size 26 a size 18 and up can fit they just won’t close the back. I’m a size 16 and all the samples at the store were 6 and 8 and I was able to try them on.
