If so-any tips? I'm working on mine now, but I'm totally open to suggestions.

Mrs. Star wrote hers from scratch and shared a lot of it in her recaps, I would start there for tips and a bit of a guideline.

Start early! We were editing ours with our officiant up until the morning of the wedding. It was such a fun and memorable experience though - I would not do it any other way!

We went on line and looked for samples on-line and borrowed bits and pieces of our favorites and moved things around until we had something we liked. It did/does take a super long time... but I feel like its totally worth it to make it just that much more personal!

I wrote ours. Our pastor laughed because he said in 20 years, he had never had a bride write her entire ceremony. I did put in a section where he could talk about whatever he wanted, though, although I let him change the wording wherever he wanted to make it sound more like how he actually speaks. He didn't want to sound awkward.

I actually got inspired by Mrs. Cherry Pie's speech. I had never thought I would ever write my own, but her's was just so perfect, I just knew that I had to have something like that of my own. We did not write our own vows, though, as we both really wanted to use the traditional ones.

    Here's a link to Cherry Pie's : http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/09/24/write-your-own-wedding-ceremony/

She has all of the advice you need on how to get started and how she did it.

Get the book The Wedding Ceremony Planner.  It is hands down the best resource we found.  I put together a beautiful ceremony from that book and some online resources in just a few days.
