My FI for whatever reason finds it very important that I wear a veil for the wedding, and even expects it to have a blusher! Although now he has backed off that, he just thought they all did. I didnt get a veil at my bridal appt. I was very overwhelmed and just wasn’t happy with what they were showing me, I didnt want sparkle or detail, I was just thrust into all kinds of accessories and I just didnt feel ok to make a decision. Now I am worried about trying to find a veil. My dress is not WHITE but it is not quite ivory either. I cant just bring my dress with me to every bridal shop and ask to put it on and try on their veil selection can I?
Did any other brides not get them in the same visit?
I got so apprehensive that I ordered one on a whim off ebay from China for 7 dollars.
I am hoping maybe that spontaneity might work in my favor and it will be “perfect” but who knows, I figured 7 bucks was not a lot to waste on the off chance it works!

@pandaroo: I got my veil off LightInTheBox for $17 and it was beautiful! No need to spend a ton of money on a designer veil, there are a ton of options out there.
I actually had the opposite problem…I wanted to wear a veil and DH tried to convince me that “NO ONE” wears veils anymore! Not sure where he got such a ridiculous idea lol.

Ha, exact same problem here too! I was reading some article about veils, and the first picture was a bride in a veil with a blusher. My FI came up to use the laptop, saw it, and his first reaction was: “You’re not wearing THAT, are you??!”, haha. Turns out he has very strong negative feelings towards blushers, who would have thought?

Oh my lol!
It is so funny how each groom has different ideas about what they expect for weddings. My FI was surprised to hear they make veils without blushers!

During the wedding planning process, my DH kept motioning himself flipping back the blusher from my face and giving me a kiss. Lol. I finally told him that I had no intentions of wearing a blusher across my face. He didn’t know what a blusher was and assumed it was just a part of the veil. When I asked him if he’d be dissappointed, he said he always thought that’s what brides wore, but that it didn’t really matter to him. I ended up wearing a veil, no blusher. He didn’t seem to miss it too much. Lol.
