@ashleekathryn:  I would do a wedding party app so that people don’t have to join the social networks to participate. I wouldn’t want to create an instagram account (or a facebook account if I didn’t already have one) just to post for the wedding, I’d much rather download an app and delete it after. Maybe that’s just me though!

I agree a lot of people do not have social networking accounts and you want the focus on the wedding not setting up Instagram etc. We had approximately 70 guests and only three people uploaded photos  to our shared shutterfly account, even after I sent out the instructions again after the wedding. Don’t set you sites too high on getting guest photos, the only sure fire way is to leave your own camera out for people to take photos with. I wish I had done that.

    Hi there!

I got married a few monts ago in Cali, and I used ii.do. I was really pleased with the outcome! My guests were really entertained. And I can assure you, there were some really funny pictures in there, haha. We then got the best pictures printed in a photo album like this: http://ii.do/social-media-wedding-photobooks

I have a picture of the outcome. Hope my opinion helps! I plan on giving a slideshow as a present at a wedding this year too :)

We used wedpics – I highly recommend them! I signed up and then emailed and Facebook invited people. Printed a sign from them and had it sitting on the gift table, for those people I didn’t email or Facebook. I’ve received a lot of compliments from guests – they loved watching it throughout the day, that it was free, and that you could upload from their app or the internet. And, best of all, it’s free!

hyzenthlay:  I’m going to be using wedpics too!! It’s soooo easy to use and I LOVE that it’s free.  I don’t have to worry about it posting onto facebook or instagram and I can pick and choose afterwards what pictures I want to post onto the social networks.  I find it was easier to use than wedding party.  I got so confused with it and they make you answer all these questions.  I can see it annoying people because they just want to upload photos.

I’m printing out the instructions cards and putting one on each table setting with their place card and favours.

lilwickedful:  great! Yeah, I printed those too, but then forgot to tell our set-up people to put them out, so somewhere I have a stack of them, unused.
