Apparently I've been wearing my rings too big…

@blushpinkbride: Did you try both rings on together?  I know when I have my band on (FI occasionally lets me play dress up with it  Laughing) it seems to fit snugger on my finger then with just my engagement ring on.

Assuming your will be wearing both together, that is.

It’s all about what’s comfortable for you…I’ve been sized around a 5.25-5.5, but I prefer to wear a 6 or a 6.25.  It’s just more comfortable- I hate feeling like my rings are too tight or that I have finger muffin top!  😉  As long as they aren’t falling off, wear whatever size feels best.  And PP is correct- it will fit a bit tighter when both bands are on your finger.

My fingers go up and down a size and a half depending on the weather.

I hope you aren’t like me or those rings are going to be uncomfy.

@Olivepepper:  +1

I’m a size 4 but my ring is sized at 4.5 to account for swelling and the addition of a wedding band later on. Right now, the weather is cold and my ring is very loose, but I would need to violently shake my hand for the ring to get passed my small nuckles.

I ordered the right size for my ring but haven’t been able to get my hands on a sizing bar to check if it is indeed the size we ordered. My ring will fly off my finger if I turn in to a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing balloon man. And I can’t resize mine and I don’t want to put sizing beads in it :/

I am really hoping that a wedding band will make it tighter…but I think I will have to order the same size in the band as my e-ring and I am nervous it will only exacerbate the problem!!

@taylorkirby:  Why can’t you order a different size band? Worst case scenerio, you can use the looseness of the rings as an excuse to start stacking bands 🙂 That’s what I’ve been telling my FI, haha.

DH bought my ring in a size 7 only to discover that I wear a size 4.5-5!

So we went with size 5 to account for swelling/pregnancy/band+ring width/etc.

@letigre:  I am, for whatever reason unbeknownst to me, really, really finicky with my wedding set right now. I am selfishly insisting I get the matching band to my ering but…I am the one wearing it forever and I need it to match. haha.

This is why I think I may need to get the same size, I don’t want the intricate details not lining up right.I feel like it would compromise the ring if they weren’t matching up exactly. My ring is a 4.25 which is what I normally wear, but I think I want to order a 4. I don’t know how much that will affect it matching up though 🙁 I know it isn’t a huge size but it still worries me.

My finger changes size depending on temperature and the time of day. I personally prefer a loose fitting ring though. I find it more comfortable, even though it spins lots 😉

jewellers always say you should wear the tightest size possible… i don’t know why… but it seems to be a trend. i disregard what they say and go with what’s comfortable. I SHOULD be a 5 but I chose 5.25 because I like that feel.

One jeweler sized me at an 8, which was ok when I left the store but seemed like it was getting tighter and tighter the longer I wore it. So I went back and he insisted that I was an 8, and that if I went to an 8.5 it would be too big and fall off.

Went to a different jeweler and she sized me at an 8, but explained that a lot of people’s hands swell throughout the day and that I would probably be ok in an 8.5. She said basically there should be resistance when it passes over my knuckle, so that when my fingers are at the smallest it won’t fall off. 8.5 still feels tight occasionally, but not like it was cutting off circulation like the 8 was

My finger is a size 4.5 but I just got my rings sized up tp a 5. My ering is 2.5 mm and with a band (or 2 ) it would be too snug for my liking. I like to be able to take my entire stack off together and not have to shimmy them off individually. Plus..I know it sounds weird but I like the look of rings that are a little bit loose and “airy”.

I’m a 5.5 but have my rings at a 6. It’s perfect for the Texas summer when my fingers swell.
