Maybe it is right on the table cloth? I don't know, but it looks nice.
It does look good! I think it is right on the table cloth though. You could use clear trays, covered styrofoam pieces, or maybe even like parchment paper if you wanted to put something between the food and the table cloth.
Maybe there is a piece of glass in between the food and cloth?
Yes the food prob is directly on the tablecloth. I have done this before with a restaurant that did catering. We used high polyester content tablecloths for easy cleaning and the table top was wrapped in plastic to avoid cross contamination or ruining the table.
It is amazing visually. I don't like that it is directly on the tablecloth as that is very unsanitary (and any licensed caterer will not do that for you since it is a violation of food safety laws).

I saw this appetizer display and am dying to use something similar to this for a wedding I'm planning in May. Does anyone know how this is set up? It looks at though the food is directly on the tablecloth, but I can't imagine that is the case. PLEASE HELP!!
