Hi bees! We are planning on doing a heavy appetizer reception, but I need some suggestions on appetizers.

Will anybody show me their menus?

    Thanks :)

Take out the quiche and sub with Hawiaan Pizza Bites. Pizza is our favorite food so we had that passed around and the wedding party got scallops wrapped in bacon in addition to the rest!

Hey! We plan on doing the exact same thing, but I haven't finalized the menu yet. I will certainly post when we get around to it.

We are using a company called Catering Unlimited (in Nova Scotia, Canada) and they had a great list to choose from. I will share the link to that list with you - there were LOTS of suggested appies on there.

    Good luck!

One thing we loved about a friend's wedding was the "soup shooter" station - 3 different soups served in shot glasses.

    @aplusb

I always love the idea of soup shooters, but everythime i've had them they're luke warm and kind of stiffen. Granted i've only had lobster bisque and butternut squash. How did your friend's caterer make sure it was nice an hot for all the guest?

you should probably talk to your caterer.  there really isnt much point giving them a list of the items you want if they dont actually make them.  ask them for a list of the apps they make and choose from those.

We're doing a heavy hors d'ouvres reception too!  We're having 4 "stations" featuring foods from different countries we've visited while we've been together. :)

    • Hummus served atop pita triangles
    • Skewered greek salad

    Italian

    • Pesto Chicken Ciabatta sandwiches
    • Tortellini with Garlic cream sauce (served in old fashioned glasses)
    • Bruschetta
    • Baked Brie Crostini with strawberry praline sauce
    • Tomato Caprese salad skewer

    Asian

    • Crab Rolls with jalepeno jelly (our favorite of all of them!)
    • California roll with wasabi soy sauce drizzle
    • Spinach madarin walnut salad
    • Chicken Satay

    Caribbean

    • Jamaican jerk chicken bites
    • Raspberry chipotle chicken roulade
    • Teriyaki pork tenderloin

Dessert Bar (around 20 of each of these)

    • Cheesecake Petit Fours- Italian
    • Baklava- Greek
    • Tiramisu Shooters- Italian
    • Chocolate dipped fortune cookies- Asian
