I need some advice, Bees.
I’m co-hosting a shower this saturday and I’m stumped as to what else to bring. It’s a tea party themed shower so I’m bringing a few different types of mini sandwiches and some home baked chocolate chip cookies…but I don’t know what else and I’d like to bring another hardy snack but the bride is a bit picky and likes simple snacks.
The other girls are bringing:
-cheese and crackers
-dips with crackers

How about mini quiches? You can buy them frozen at a store like Trader Joe’s. Even if the picky bride won’t like them, I’m sure some of the guests will. Another item that’s good with tea is mini scones, which you can usually find in grocery store bakeries. You could serve them with jam or lemon curd.

BAH! The bride isn’t allowed to be picky if someone else is providing the food, unless she has an allergy or something. It’s not like this food is only for her!
How about tiny cucumber finger sandwiches?
Oh wait you already said little sandwiches.
– Mini Caprese salad skewers (cherry tomato, basil, fresh mozzerella on a toothpick)
– some sort of soup shooter (make/buy a big batch of soup but serve it in disposable shot glasses), maybe even serve as a cold soup! (avocado, carrot, or pea soup are good cold)
– Pick up shimp cocktail at the supermarket… I mean, I’d eat the whole thing (and then whine about my choloesterol)
I agree with PP – I’d just buy something in bulk and have that as an extra instead of making it – less work for you.
I’m going to suggest Costco for boxed, pre-made frozen appetizers… their food is always delishious.

some kind of cupcake/sponge cake? you can’t have a tea party without cake! i’d make scones, but that’s very english i think haha

Or spanikopita or some other filling-in-phyllo thing? @spring-bride inspired me, those are at TJs too.

What about mini hotdogs? (Costco)
And definitely cupcakes!

These are great ideas! I’m going to costco tomorrow and raiding their prepackaged section! haha

Do you have party pies where you are? just mini pies, or party sauage rolls always go down a treat

Chili Queso is my favorite food! Potato skins, mini pizzas. I guess none of those are very tea party themed, more football party. I am a fan of pierogis (little potato dumplings). You can buy them frozen. biscuits with clotted cream or cream cheese and jam.
I’m hungry now. Good luck!
